Did Elvis ever record or sing in person "Return to me" by Dean martin?![]()
The singer you are referring to that sung Crazy Little Thing Called Love was Jimmy Ellis. It appeared on the Rockabilly LP.
Also, Dino78 Dean Martin's version of King of the Road was sung live many times and it was on another LP which was a country LP of Dean Martin.
Here is the live version of Dean Martin singing it in St. Louis.

To my knowledge Elvis didn't sing any of Dean Martin songs. Just other singers songs that Dean recorded as well. But I don't think that Elvis recorded any of the big songs that made Dean famous. I can imagine Elvis singing "Everybody Loves Somebody" but I know he didn't record it. He may of sung some Dean's songs but I don't know any right off hands. I don't think he sung any of Sammy's songs that are famous by Sammy. He sung "My Way" we know by Frank but I don't know any other song of Frank he recorded. Frank recorded Something saying it was the best Lennon/McCartney song and they didn't even wrote it. George Harrison did.
Urban myth, unfortunately.
Sinatra acknowledged Harrison as the writer from when he first recorded it, in 1970, and even attributed it to Harrison from the stage at Caesars Palace in 1978.

Sinatra's version is, as you would expect, superb.
Here it is if you've not heard it.

Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
Elvis and Dean Martin recorded the following songs:
I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine, It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin', Welcome To My World, Gentle On My Mind, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, Take Good Care Of Her, Cindy, True Love, several christmas standards, ...
I never heard of a Sammy Davis' big hits too. But Sammy recorded "High Heel Sneakers" around the same time as Elvis.
The major problem here is, all of them recorded so many songs, those were written by others, that they recorded the same songs here and then. What I mean, take f.e. "For The Good Times". It was recorded by Elvis in 1972, by Dean Martin in 1970 and by Frank Sinatra in 1979.
You are right, all of these songs aren't their big hits.
In his "Jaycees" speech Elvis quoted the lyrics of the old Sinatra song "Without A Song". Also Sinatra sang the old Bing Crosby number "Blue Hawaii" in 1957.

Excuse me, that is wrong. During the first time that Frank sung it in concert when it was recorded. You can clearly hear Frank say "This is the greatest Lennon/McCartney song of them all". Direct quote of him saying that.
Not a urban myth, FACT!. Even Larry King during a tribute show to Frank played that clipped and his own friends said that he didn't realize that Harrison wrote the song and corrected himself in 1975 for the first time.
"It is said, Sinatra would often mistakenly introduce "Something" as his favorite Lennon/McCartney song. But Sinatra gave proper attribution to George Harrison on stage at Caesars Palace in 1978 before performing "Something." "
That is 8 years since his first recording and a less than 8 years since he first sung it live on stage. Live at Caesar's Palace was his 30 sometime time singing that song on stage.
Even Frank himself said that it was a error on his part.
