Do you have names that you associate with different suits, that aren't design or fan names? Mine are:
1970-
Frog suit (Wing suit, for the webbed design)
1972-
Meteor Suit (Owl, as it looks like shooting stars against a dark background a.k.a. space)
1974-
Tiger Man (Mad Tiger, I call it that for the song)
1975-
Pajama Suit (V-Neck, I mean, seriously, what else does this look like?)

Actually the person to fault would be Gene Doucette - not Bill Belew. Bill stopped the hands on and day-to-day working with the jumpsuits in 1971 because he was too busy with other projects to have enough time to help work on them with Gene Doucette so he handed that job completely over to Gene.
I've always wondered if the whole jumpsuit argument was just a 'hindsight is always 20/20' thing, that maybe those who were designing, making and supplying the memorial jumpsuits - the good as well as the bad -- just couldn't see that they would help to contribute to his caricature image that sometimes seems will forever be associated with Elvis. How anyone could NOT see that by 1976, the jumpsuits were not as stunning or flattering is just beyond me.

thanks for info ..i didint know that .Gene Doucette took over...and what was she thinking when she designed the v-neck thingy
,,,,what was on her mind when she began to design this outfit,,,..prob got mixed up confused.. ,,,mabye she thought she was making a suit for a clown convention
...later found out it was really for elvis
..it was too late to turn back by then..elvis put the outfit on and hit the vegas stage in it

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
I wonder if Elvis would have considered all of these names for his jumpsuits totally nuts??????? I just don't imagine that during the 70's, he referred to this stagewear by the names "Blue Nail Suit", "White Concha", "Flame Suit" or "Blue Egyptian Bird suit".....the list is endless......

How about just "gimme a suit that'll look good for tonight!"
