Thread: Obama at Graceland?

    Obama at Graceland?

Since former President George Bush and the world leader from Japan visited Graceland a coupe years ago, do you think that President Barack Obama will too? It's been said that he's a fan of Elvis. Obviously so, he requested to use an Elvis song for his inauguration. So maybe he will during his tenure as president.

He said so many things during the campaign, I`m sure he doesn`t remember half of it.....he`s probably got peeps jotting down what he says so he can keep it all straight. He changed his stance on so many issues during the campaign he probably gave himself whiplash.

BTW, the stock market recorded a record drop yesterday on inauguration day.
Wonder if that $170 million price tag for the inauguration and the TEN balls had anything to do with it?

well its something that really is not important for obama....if he goes to graceland he goes if not who cares.....i think its more impportant 4 obama ...to concentrate on getting the usa back on its feet..thats the number one priority for him..there were promises he made during the campain time has come to deliver...once he acomplishes that ..then he can visit graceland with his family on a job well done...america is in really bad shape right now

No. The only reason President Bush brought Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to Graceland was because Koizumi requested it. Bush would have never come if not for that reason.

So you're basing your answer on a former president who didn't really care that much about Elvis? Obama did contact EPE to ask about using If I Can Dream. Did Bush ever ask to use his songs? No. So how do you come up with Obama never wanting to visit? Maybe his daughters want to see it since it is popular to little kids now. I have heard that his half sister is a huge Elvis fan. She was at the inauguration yesterday. Maybe she saw him perform in Hawaii since they both grew up there when Elvis did the special. Graceland's just as popular if not more popular than the White House. Graceland's the #1 most visited residential home in the world!

But that's not a good answer because you're assuming that Obama wouldn't just because of Bush being manipulated in going, otehrwise he wouldn't have done it. Koizumi told the president the only way he came to America was if the president took him to Graceland. So Bush obliged. It did brign a lot fo positive attention to Bush when he took that memphis trip. It's probably his most popular thing he did right during his 8 years in office. Obama visiting Gracleand would guarnatee more future visitors jsut ebcause he walked throught here and gain massive world wide exposure to Elvis. Sillerman's a big Obama supporter so maybe he'll work something out for the president to visit.

no offence but obama visiting graceland would mean nothing at all...with or without american presidents visiting graceland...graceland will always be loaded with visitors......leave obama at the white house where he belongsbesides elvis is more popular than obama

    A Bill Clinton quote:

'You know, [George Bush] is always comparing me to [Elvis Presley] in sort of unflattering ways. I don`t think Bush would have liked Elvis very much, and that`s just another thing that`s wrong with him.'

I could imagine Obama visiting Graceland one day.

Me too if he hasn't already been there before he started to run for office.

In my honest opinion, rebuilding America right now is more important than visiting Graceland.

I didn't mean now. I meant in the next 4 to 8 years of his presidency.
