Now, the next step is to go out into the streets of Manhattan, dress up as a homeless person and beg for money claiming that "I need money for food."

    .

I'd be very wary of this one.

The coloured vinyls, as far as I'm aware, were of solid colours.

Yes, and remember the original pressing was black, not blue, something many collectors out there would do well to learn.

    Not true.

The original first pressing in Europe was blue.

The speckled or multicolored pressings also exist and went for high amounts years back.
But the amount on ebay seems way to high for a vinyl record, even if it is rare.

Me too David. What concerns me about this one(other than the price) is that the seller doesn't know for sure where it came from. Notice he uses the words "might have been" or "it could be." I would stay away from this one....and keep my $1900.00

So which is it? How many black copies were made before switching over to blue?
When and where were the speckled ones released?

And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

I know for fact that the blue one was pressed, with orange label. It got released in Europe, but also in the States for a short period.

    Then they switched to black.

Most of the colored issues were merely sold on record fairs late seventies, early eighties.

I have all this somewhere, the story behind this, will look this up later.

The first press was on blue vinyl (200,000),it is said that RCA "experimented" with other colors of vinyl such as white, green, red, and gold (not released)
Then RCA switched to black vinyl but then when Elvis died they turned it back to blue.
The speckled one was never released,
