You've never been
For those lucky few here who were lucky enough to witness The King in concert, please share with us those wonderful and beautiful memories?
What was the atmosphere like?
Was there a certain electricity about him, his entrance, his performance that is unique only to him?
What did her wear?
Where was the show?
What was his best song?
Any funny or memorable comments during his on-stage banter?
What was that feeling like as he entered the stage?

You've never been
There was an anticipation during 2001 that would almost make me feel as though I were going to hyperventilate. It was an unbelievable feeling in Vegas because I knew that in mere seconds he was going to be standing right there in front of me. I have never experienced anything quite like it in all of my life. In concerts it was fun because he was about to enter to a sea of camera flashes that were at times almost blinding.
Fast forward to 7:30 on this clip...that's the exact spot in 2001 where I would feel like I was going to explode.....literally.

"hyperventilate"???? WOW???? That's a new description. Was it electric??? How does a mere man produce all of these emotions?

My aunt described it as electricity bouncing off of him everywhere and he was only walking across the stage, the anticipation of his entering the stage was unbelievable, his mere presence was phenomenal, that its so difficult to put into words, as if time stood still...as the song goes.

Like Jim Murray of the Imperials said in an interview, when ELVIS PRESLEY appeared "it felt like Royalty came in the room." You could just feel his majestic warm and bright presence sparkling and sizzling with electricity. Just imagine during Ronnie's thunderous drum intro, all the people stand up from their seats all smiling and tears in their eyes, when all the spotlights hit the far back of the stage and the flashes start to go off THEN - Elvis climbs up the stairs to the stage and walks towards you during the crispy and eletric riff of See See Rider. It really sounds like the entrance of a big King. I think you can sense this incredible feeling of the intro in this video:

Poke a little sock salad...
That's the "X" factor that honestly can't be explained. That's what made him different from any other performer. I bet most that saw him can't explain it either.....it was charisma, pure and simple.
Time NEVER stood still for me...it was always the quickest 60 minutes in the world. It literally went by in a flash...it seemed closer to 5 minutes rather then 60.![]()
The crowd was a mixed crowd-12 year olds, teens, 20s, 30s on up.
The crowd was noisy and people down front-were just crazy. The minute he walked on-flash bulbs popped- like a strobe light. The flashes continued into See See Rider. The thought that I was in the same room (admittedly a huge room) crossed my mind over and over. When he walked/strutted across the stage it was such a rush-charisma walking and smiling.
The show for 1976 was a pretty good one-he wore the Aztec suit.
There were no surprises in his set list to me-except America. He was attacked on stage by a middle aged woman-she caught him from behind. Many younger girls jumped on stage and were thrown off by security-ones head hit the stage with a loud thump. It was bedlam for a time. The teeny boppers sitting in front of us-went nuts when he sang Hound Dog and stood and jumped up and down
There were 5 of us in our group and 3 were not fans like myself and my brother-but they came away with a great respect for his singing ability and how electrifiying it felt in the auditorium.
When he left the stage-it was like someone took away the air.
Work in Progress!
I sure remember that feeling too Rosanne. It had to be the shortest hour ever!
I think I could have sat there for twenty four hours a day just watching and listening to that man....

Keep your stories coming . I never get tired of listening to people who have "been there". I am sure all of you appreciate the wonderful opportunity you had of seeing him live and just being in the same room with him at the same time. That is the one thing that I find so sad is that I will never ever get the chance to see him in this lifetime! It is great to get to Graceland and see his things but it still is NOT HIM!
Just hearing people`s experiences of being to a show kind of makes it seem a little like "being there".![]()
Yes Rosanne, tell us again how Elvis kissed you![]()
