    getting close.......................

to his birthday..................hard to imagine Elvis @ 74 years old. he would have been more handsome than ever. such a beautiful man in more than many ways. the world truly lost a very special person. bless his beautiful heart. no one lives forever, but he should have longer. my birthday is the 28of this month. I feel it just so awesome to be born the same month as Elvis.

    Hi Rustysgirl,

    My horse's name is Rusty.

What lovely things you say, and I agree with you! I love older men (or older Elvis') lol

Kathy Parkinson's birthday is coming up too, on the 8th!

My late grandfather's birthday was also in January.

    A wonderful month!

    Whoops, edit:

Except this is Ed, lol, not Rusty (Storm, our border collie, jumped on me and broke the camera the other day.....sigh.....). Ed slips into all photos, lol, he loves to be the centre of attention, oh well, lol! I wasn't taking a photo of him, at this time.....if I was, it would be a close up, lol, as he likes to put his muzzle on the camera (Ed thinks he is beautiful, well I do too, lol).

These days 74 doesn't seem as old as it used to, wished he could have been around a bit longer, but, when we see pictures of him he will always be young, just glad he existed at all.

I agree with you, Kathy, 74 isn't that old these days.

    It's just a number.

    Birthday Story

    Birthday Story -

For my sister's 10th birthday in August, 1971, my parents decided to
take us to Tahoe. We left about 4 a.m. for the 6 hour drive. My
sister and I slept the whole way. As we pulled in to Tahoe, my Dad
yelled "Wake up, we're here". My sister and I (who weren't to
thrilled about going to Tahoe) rose up, and the first thing to catch
our eyes was a taxi with a big "Elvis" billboard on top. Immediately,
we started yelling "Elvis is here! Can we see Elvis please,
please??!!" My parents slyly said "We'll see". We figured, of
course, that that's why we came here.

On August 2, still no mention from Mom and Dad about going to see Elvis. Then, about 6 p.m., they said "Kids, get ready, we're going to
see Elvis". You've never seen two kids more excited!

We went to the Sahara, took our seats in about the middle of the
theater, and the show began. Nipsey Russell opened. Then, the lights
went down, the excitement grew, and out came THE KING!

About 15 minutes into the show, a man came to our table and said "I
hear it's someones' birthday here". My sister said "It's mine!". He
then proceeded to lead her up to the front row. Now, I don't know who
this man was (I was only 8 years old), but he had to be one of Elvis'
guys, cause he got word to Elvis about my sister's birthday. Elvis then reached down into the audience, and to my family's
surprise, pulled my sister up on stage. He said something to the
effect of "I hear it's your birthday". He asked her her name and age
and sang "Happy Birthday" to her, and gave her a big hug and kiss. He
then called someone over from offstage, who brought him the 4-album
set "The Other Sides", which Elvis presented to my sister.

This was (and still is) the highlight of my sister's life. Truly a
dream come true from a huge Elvis fan. I have tried for years to find
someone with video or audio from that show, but have had no success.
If anyone can help me locate this, it would be tremendously appreciate
it. I would be forever indebted to anyone who could be of assistance.
    Thanks,
