In 2008, Elvis embraced Facebook and the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll roared onto the scene with a major presence on the popular social networking site. Founded by a former Harvard student, the site has grown by leaps and bounds since 2004 when the website first started out as a way to connect students on campus. Since 2006, anyone over the age of 13 has been able to join this user-friendly connection service. So for all you Elvis fans out there, here is another way to bond with other Elvis fans, on a virtual level.
In 2009, your New Year’s resolution might be to join the social networking revolution and signing up for Facebook is almost effortless. All you need to do is go to Facebook.com, enter in your full name, email address, a personal password, and your date of birth. Once you enter in all your information and click the “Sign Up” button, you are ready to start managing your account.
Once you join the Facebook crowd, or if you already have a member profile, adding yourself as a “fan of Elvis” is simple. After you have logged on to your account, paste this link into your browser, and add yourself to Elvis’ fan list. You can even share Elvis with others, as well as post messages on his “wall”, watch Elvis videos, listen to Elvis music, look at photos, or purchase Elvis products. You can also catch up on the latest Elvis news, events, and even meet other fans from all over the world; the options are endless.
