Yes, I think so. But my aunt said they watched as the funeral filed into the gravesite while they watched as "Uncle Elvis" and "Uncle Vernon" went by.

That's a very real possibility. You probably attended the same concerts and Vegas shows that they attended because they did go to Houston as well as the shows here in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. They also made their trips to Vegas (a minimum of 4 per year!) and took in his shows. I bet you have met them and didn't realize it.

Why did they go 4 times a year??

But Gail, you're one up on them. They never met him, personally. And once he passed away, its like they stayed in 1977 and never did the annual pilgramage to Graceland, etc. and didn't want to hear about the fallout after his death. It was always 1977 to them....

Because they loved Vegas, because they could and because they loved to gamble and see the shows. When they would go to Vegas when Elvis wasn't there, they saw many other performers. They really loved the whole day is night/night is day thing, my grandfather loved to play blackjack and when they didn't go to see Elvis, they usually stayed at the Queen's down on Fairmont, but when Elvis was playing they stayed at Caesars or the Hilton.

No, "buried" literally means put into the ground. "Entomb" is the word normally used for placement in a mausoleum.

For me it has always been about the voice and the music above all else.and the feeling of being connected to him while he sings... He has been a constant in my life since I was a child...and...well.....yeah...y`all know what I`m sayin`!!!....I just "get" him.

This is me and my own opinion which represents only me:

I don't class myself as being a "fan" cos to me that includes being interested in Elvis the image too and I'm not. I would call myself an appreciator of his voice cos that's what drew me to him in the first place. If I had been able to go see him live in concert I would be in the front row totally lost in his voice, no screaming or fainting from this woman. If he offered me a scarf I would smile at him and say "can I have a hug instead please".

I'm not interested in his private life more his charactertics and the person he is on the inside.

If I could list 4 things I love about him they would be this:-

    1. His voice (cos without that I never would have known about him)
    2. His characteristics (all of them cos that's what makes him, him)
    3. His sense of humour (what a great one it is too lol)
    4. His looks (this is number 4 cos I see past his looks, to me he's beautiful
not only on the outside but the inside too and me that's what counts
    more)

To me Elvis was a human being with the most incredible voice that touched your heart, a very talented person, but a human being all the same with feelings the same as the rest of us. I wish people had that thought in their heads before they wrote about him.
    I go with you, Maria

When Elvis died i was curious why someone so young died. And i read the Newspaper like everyone else, and started liking his music/voice. I read everything i could about his life. It always fasinated me how someone who IMO had it all could spiral down so quickly. And to me no other entertainer can compair to him.(excuse my spelling)

Elvis has been with me so long and felt like someone dear and close from the beginning so I have to say it was all of him, the man and the music that got to me and that I've been a constant fan throughout his life and will always be.

Elvis Presley's, voice followed more than a decade of our grandparents, parents, hollywood and radio's favourite voices. We were absolutely steeped in popular music well before Elvis hit us.

Therefore for me it was/is always his voice that interests me most.

Awhile ago my 48 year old son John had me listen to "Elvis is Back" on his new state of the art audio system. Wow! I heard a brand new Elvis!

My 1960 music player was an automatic dansette for playing 78, 45, and 33RPM vinyl!

That's the way it is with us steam age Elvis fans, we grew up with the changing technology and just marvel at the amazing possibilities unfolding.

Mid 60s when Elvis was making rather silly movies, I discovered Beethoven.

It could be said, I'm a Born Again Elvis fan. For 30 years or more it was the magnificent world of classical music that had my attention. Then in 1997, Elvis was back!!! Since then he has taken up an inordinate amount of my time. A very rewarding time to say the least.
