Did Elvis ever get "fashion" advice?

Besides his jumpsuits, I wonder if anyone helped him pick out any of his wardrobe item or was it just all pure Elvis, just only what he liked and picked out??

I know that Liberace gave him advice to pop up his dressing style in Vegas in 1956. He told him he had to dress to please the audience. And they immediately exchanged their jackets. That's all I know of... But I think Elvis knew what fit him and he could pick the best ones for himself without too much advice. Like when in 1957 he felt that the golden suit looks clownish and he only kept the jacket after a few shows wearing it. After a while people around him learnt his taste and style and they gave him clothes that he liked (for example the dark blue velvet shirt from Barbara Hearn if I'm not wrong... or was it from Anita Wood? - or neither...)

I've read years ago that Elvis sometimes would ask the Sweet Inspirations or Myrna to pick out a suit and he would wear the one they picked out. Linda, Priscilla and Sheila also got to pick their likes for his stage show at times. Usually though Elvis would pick his own for each show. It depended what kind of mood he was in for that particular show.

I don't know how true this is but I was told by vester that Elvis' jumpsuits were all designed for a purpose and reason. They weren't designed just for looks.

I thought Elvis was fashion? Maybe he borrowed a few ideas from James Dean and Tony Curtis,I'm speaking clothes wise.

Yeah, I've heard this version too... I know that Gladys attached some "teardrops" on some of his jackets. Anyone has further information about it?

Wasn't that Natalie Wood's dress-maker,that made that shirt for Elvis or was it the red velvet shirt?
