    The magic of Christmas

Elvis seemed to understand the magic of Christmas. He loved it! I wonder where that came from?

The reason why he had such a wondeful understanding of the holiday of Christmas is because he was a child at heart, a man in a child's body and mind who never grew up. Additionally, he didn't really have to grow up because he had the means to surround himself with adults to do that sort of un-fun and adult stuff for him. He also had the financial ability to provide all of those child-like toys to his hearts desire.
"More people today should see him not simply as a performer, but as an artist with a great soul."

I don't know what it was for Elvis, but I've always loved and looked forward to Christmas.I start planning Christmas very early each year (in late summer). It's such a special holiday for me and my family.

Probably like most of us-its a time of year where you want to see good things happen to everyone. You want to help someone without hesitation, to feel happy and make others happy it you can. If you are poor as a kid-and then somehow rise up above that poverty-you want to help someone who is in the position you recall as a kid.

Perhaps if we all tried to feel this way all year round?

You never know how kindnesses can spread, and/or manifest. The way our world should be developing .....

I think that a big part of it had to do with the hard times that he grew up in.....hope and wishing are important things when you have little else.I think he understood the need for "magic" in the world.....and it always brought out the little boy in him. In a lot of ways though Elvis himself was the all-year-`round Santa Claus!

I can say from experience of having grown up very hard and poor-that Christmas was the time of year when my spirits were lifted just by the smiles on peoples faces, and the simple kindnesses that came unexpectidly from people I did not know.

This is what Christmas is about.
