or left his world
In his life time before he passed? This should be good trivia.
How many friends, relatives, loved ones died before he did?
or left his world
It's hard NOT to imagine Elvis as perfect; how else could someone be THAT good looking, THAT talented, THAT generous & THAT charismatic
Yeh, that's what I meant, should have been clearer.
The only thing I know is that he lost his mother and Judy Tyler who was a friend of his.
Other than his mother, I have to mention Jesse his twin since the loss of him caused a lot of emotional trauma to Elvis' mother and therefore passed on to him as well.
Nick Adams died but I don't know how much that affected Elvis if at all..sure it did some since they spent some time together. I'm not sure if Gene or Junior Smith passed while Elvis was still alive?
Diane
to me it seems that it was a constant given in his life, Losing people. It began alreaddy with Jessie

Bill Black, is the only other one i can think of right now.
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
Jessie really doesn't count as Elvis had no recollection of him and - despite the rumours - I don't believe he even thought of him much.
As for losses of friends and family, some include:
Gladys
Jessie D. Presley (Vernon's dad)
Bill Black
Dewey Phillips
Johnny Smith (uncle)
Carroll "Junior" Smith (cousin)
Travis Smith (uncle)
Judy Tyler
Steve Sholes
Bobby Darin
Jim Reeves
Patsy Cline
Nick Adams
Patrick Biggs (Delta's husband)
Bobbi Mann (cousin)
Red's father, whom he knew (died the same day as Gladys)
Johnny Burnette (singer, friend from High School)
Lloyd Copas (cowboy singer and friend)
Albert Hand (not a friend, but an acquaintance. Elvis sent a telegram to the British fan club upon Hand's death in '72)
Buddy Holly
Al Jackson (Stax drummer in '73, friend; murdered in '75)
... among others.

Dan Blocker was also a friend of Elvis. He died in 1973. He play in Bananza.
I think a couple of Elvis' cousins - Smiths - suicided
Also, the Elaine Dundee book, Elvis and Gladys - said that Gladys miscarried a later pregnancy
so while the twin death may not have played large in Elvis' mind, it would have impacted Gladys and how she treated him
he may have felt more driven to succeed to compensate for the twin loss - this is supposedly common for so called twinless twins
as did Nick Adams suicide
while I doubt Elvis dwelled on Jesse the way the Kurt Russell movie showed
Good job Get, I knew you'd come through.
Tracey Smith
Bobby Smith
According to Honky Tonk Angel, The Intimate Story of Patsy Cline by Ellis Mansour.
p200 - Patsy has a photo of she and Elvis at a fundraiser. She calls it "my special portrait".
p25 - Patsy attended the Grand Ole Opry (in the audience) on April 10, 1953*. Ernest Tubb took her backstage and introduced them.
* The date for this alleged meeting may very well be wrong, and probably is.

It's really interesting that Red's father passed the same day as Gladys. I've always thought: what a surreal 'coincidence'.
And Ginger's granddad in February 1977. Not being a close relative but it happened.
Poke a little sock salad...
Thank you for some information that not wise, friends.
