I THINK ELVIS WAS A NATRUALLY GIFTED ACTOR. HE HAD NO FORMAL TRAINING BUT I THINK HE DID VERY GOOD CONSIDERING THE SCRIPTS HE WAS GIVEN. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL ON THE SET AND ALWAYS KNEW HIS LINES. A REAL TALENT! NOT MANY POPULAR SINGERS ARE ALSO GOOD FILM ACTORS!! I THINK ELVIS COMBINED BOTH VERY WELL!!

I agree

Maybe with lessons he could have improved himself...but Elvis was first of all a singer and performer and I still prefer seeing Elvis in this way.
But I think he had a lot of natural potential as a actor too and he did very well in many occasions ...if only he could play more dramatic roles...

Point well taken but if Crosby and Sinatra could do it,why couldn't have Elvis? I personally think Elvis could have been a fine actor,given the right kind of scripts.

He was such a natural actor. Drama or funny stories: he did so good.

good points.i agree..but crosby and sinatra..did better movies than elvis...i mean come on...clambake paradise hawaiian styleeverybody sing along......Queenie Wahine's Papayaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahand the list goes on.:..sinatra and crosby did quality movies-

I'm sure that Elvis could have done non-musicals roles,given the chance but the fans paid to see and hear the singin' and swayin' Elvis.

thats it shelley ...he was never given the chance to do quality non musical roles ....too bad he couldint play in that movie with barbara in 75...its tragic because elvis was loaded with talent..he was the total package he could of done anything. if given the chance better than anyone else
