Thread: Ginger

    Ginger

Anyone ever wondered why Ginger basically dropped off the radar at some point?

Here was the woman who was allegedly engaged to Elvis Presley, a pretty big deal . . . and yet, in all the subsequent decades, through all the tributes and interviews on shows like Larry King Live and Oprah and all that, who has been noticeably absent? Ginger.

Pris is there, Linda's made the rounds, other far-lesser "girlfriends" have written books or made appearances, but the one who spent months with him right up until the "final" day and was going to be his wife . . . where's she been in all the media hoopla?

One would think she, of all people, could lend major insights into what was going on with him, his mood and demeanor, his physical condition, his plans, etc. and that she would always be in demand for her contributions of such.

But instead, she's lived a quiet life in Sag Harbor, NY . . . interesting.

Linda Thompson I would have to say was my favorite of all the women he dated.

I think you will find Ginger wants ti that way. I think her memories of Elvis want be just her memories and not made of money. She was on couple early 80s Doc. Movies about Elvis but that was it.

She's living her life quietly with her family and i applaud her for that, nearly everyone connected to Elvis has had a story to tell, Ginger's memories are just that, her memories.

THis what I think. She just want to live her life and maybe her husband dont want her talking about her past fiance?
I respect her for not selling out and riding on his fame like so many others have and I am sorry I know lot of people here are Priscilla fans, I dont hate her but I dont respect her she seem to have become the professional ex-wife and widow who sold out his privacy whie claiming to love hers.

Ginger is currently writing a book. She felt that after all these years she wants to set the record straight about what happened in the last few months of his life. I am very interested in reading her book as I think there may be some new light shed on things.

I would be really interested to read Ginger's book. A lot of people who knew Elvis have written or spoken about him so often that its really the same information re-hashed. At least with Ginger it will all be a new perspective.

I liked to think like this too, until I read what Gail said about Ginger writing a book...New perspective, new lies. New light, new shadows.
All I have to say about it now is:

I certainly have more respect for Ginger than Priscilla who maquerades as a grieving widow

    Re: Ginger

IMO I think she will twist her book in her favor like Priscilla did in her book. I'm not saying Priscilla's book was all untruths but IMO it was skewed for her. There are so many supposed versions of what happened the morning of 8/17/77 we really don't know if this will be the exact truth. It will be interesting to read though.

    Re: Ginger

I dont know about her. I have read that she says she got straight out of bed and found Elvis in the bathroom. But when Strada and Esposito came upstairs they said she had her hair done and make up fixed. That means that she took (alleged) "X" amount of time before she told anyone. To me thats kind of cut throat to be that way towards the man who treated you literally like a queen. Of course, thats just hear say. I havent heard it directly from her, so who knows? If she is writing a book, may she could share some light on the subject.

I am very weary when it comes to books written about celebrities. Even if it's written by people they knew and was very close to.

Is this thread alluding to the one started regarding Elvis faking his death?

The general consensus has always been that Ginger was a gold digger who after Elvis died sued his estate to have work done for Ginger's parents! I don't see any change in that regard and she has a lot of work to do to put that Image firmly in the past. Gingers book will no doubt gloss over any imperfections she may have and shift the blame over to Elvis as others have.

It would be refreshing if she actually told the truth about Elvis' last month's worts and all!

    Hello everyone,
I,am dutch and i will try to give my opinion. I like Ginger because she is the girl who didn't do what Elvis wanted to do. She had also a own life and I like that.
I've read a lots of books about Elvis. For instant "Elvis and Me" from priscilla and what I don't understand is why she wrote about the rape. Even if Elvis raped her why telling this to the whole world. I believe that it wasn't easy for her to live with Elvis as wife but that's no reason for telling this.

The above quote is yet another reason to give for the Elvis didn't die on the 16th of August posse, Elvis would be absolutely appalled at Priscilla's behaviour.
