I`m pretty sure that originally this song came into being when it won the "Ten Years After" song contest that was held by "Elvis Monthly" back in 1987....I think the guy that did the first recording of it was a guy called Mark Haley.....I`ll go search the "monthlies" soon!!.......Really liked that version and the video...thanks Cliff.

If this is the same the song...and I`m pretty sure it is...it was written by Elvis fan George Christie....it won the above-mentioned competition back in 1987...released by BMG in July of the same year...recorded by Mark Haley.
After all that I better be right!!!!
Great clip and a wonderful song, thank you. I only know the version sung by Stan Urban, their voices sound similar
