    Jumpsuit Query

    I notice that this Image had been posted in the gallery by TLC67

    It got me thinking on a couple of things...

    1. Why do Graceland put the wrong belts on Jumpsuits? The belt on the Concha comes from the Chain jumpsuit (Info verified by Leroy).

    2. The second Jumpsuit looks like the Lace Jumpsuit, it is more than likely a copy that wasn't used as it doesn't look complete. I PM'd Leroy and the observations he made were that the Lace down the side of the right leg (left side on photo) isn't complete and just look at the length of the legs .

    When I saw this photo It just amazed me that there was so much you could miss at a glance (I know I'm sad) but when you look closer a picture tells you far more than you realise.

    After all this time J.J., you shouldn't be the LEAST bit surprised that Graceland has messed something up!!!

    Remember they mislabeled a couple of Elvis' jumpsuits in the JUMPSUITS ALL ACCESS book that they put out earlier this year? So these mistakes should come as no surprise...

    It's just another example of how the 70's era of Elvis' career seems to have little relevance as far as EPE is concerned...

    Wow, I think the 70's is my favorite part of E's career! So am I understanding that EPE is not up to par with historical item's i.e. information
    Son if you ever say another derogatory word about Elvis Aaron Presley I WILL KICK THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF YOU!~

    i think EPE are far from up to par on a lot of information around Elvis' life.
    I never looked for trouble but I never ran.

    I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that was bothered by the length of the pants. I think that looks ridiculous! Elvis was always the coolest of cool when it came to his clothes. He would not have been caught dead wearing pants that were dragging around on the floor. What an insult to his memory!

    Okay, of all the incorrect facts about Elvis, I've seen the most of them coming straight from EPE. Look at George Klein's family album book, where it shows a picture of Elvis, Priscilla, and Minnie May, which he dates as "'69 or '70," yet Elvis doesn't have sideburns and Priscilla is clearly pregnant. Now, I have the Jumpsuits: All Access Book here with me. Looking through it, I found these errors:

    1. "Lucky" suit never worn in Denver
    2. "White Sleek Suit" was also worn in 1971, and Lake Tahoe should be added as an engagement.
    3. "Wing" Suit. SHould be dated '71, not '70.
    4. "Beaded Fringe" suit. No proof of being worn in 1971, never worn in Portland or St. Louis, but worn in Denver.
    5. "Orange Target" Also worn in 1974, Never worn in Roanoke or Tulsa, but worn in Monroe.
    6. "Chinese Dragon" Unknown if worn in Tahoe.
    7. "Black Butterfly" worn in 1972, not 1971, and not worn in Lake Tahoe
    8. "Spanish Flower" One of the worst mistakes, it dates the sutis as 71, when they were really '73-'74.
    9. "White 3-piece" Not the same suit worn in Tulsa.
    10. "Indian Feather" Add Eugene, OR
    11. "Gypsy" Never worn in Richfield or Uniondale, Cleveland needs to be included
    12. "Dark Blue Aztec" Never worn in Uniondale, add New Haven and Long Island
    13. "Unfinished Suit" Actually was finished

    I have to correct you on a few facts.
    2. "White Sleek Suit" (Original name "White Broquade Suit"). There's no proof this suit was used in Tahoe 1971. The picture we know from Concert Years was actually taken on Sept. 6 1970.
    11. "Gypsy" (Original name "Eskimo Totem Pole") was used during the evening concert in Uniondale.
    12. "Dark Blue Aztec" (Original name "Chicken Bone") was used during the afternoon show in Uniondale. You mentioned add Long Island, but that is where Uniondale is.....

    About the "Wing Suit". Graceland made the mistake by naming them both different. But they both have the same name. The one with the long tassles was used in November 1970. The second one at least one time in January/February 1971.

    But there is more to this magazine. For most suits the wrong name is used. Although is some cases the original name is reffered to...
    I will put them all together here:
    "I Got "Lucky" = "Nail Swirl"
    "Herringbone" = "Cossack Top Two-Piece"
    "On Stage" = "Cossack Top Jumpsuit"
    "Long Fringe Suit" = "Wing Suit"
    "Owl" = "Royal Blue Fireworks"
    "Orange Target" = "Orange Sunburst"
    "Stone Eagle" = "Thunderbird" (is not even an eagle but a condor)
    "King of Spades" = "Arabian"
    "Inca Gold" = "Egyptian"
    "Today" = "Pharao"
    "Indian Feather" = "Chief"
    "3 Piece Spanish Flower" = "Light Blue Paisley 2-Piece"
    "Blue Rainbow" = "Blue Swirl"

    Agreed! The concho is my favorite jumpsuit, so needless to say I couldn't wait to see it in person when I went to Graceland. I was disappointed that it and several of the jumpsuits looked different from the way Elvis wore them. And I couldn't believe the length on that one too!

    We know that EPE does not administer good his estate. It is not unusual to discover errors in their permanent exhibits and information

    "I am now a central part
    Of your mindīs landscape
    Wheter you care or do not
    Yeah, Iīve made up your mind"

    There are a few reasons why EPE get it wrong, One, they don't expect the average fan to know or notice. Two, they just don't know themselves. Three, they just don't care!
