No offense to the men here on TCB World. Most men like to be babied and Elvis was no acceptation to that rule.If your saying that Elvis sometimes "acted" like a spoiled brat sometimes? I would agree.
By gosh most think Elvis was the Sexiest man who ever walked this earth...or at least one of them. But then he could act like a child at times. (and want to be babied)
It just seems like such a contrast in personality traits.
How do you all look at that??

The One and Only King of Rock'n'Roll.
Nope, the brat thing never entered my thought process.
I think sometimes those 2 traits go hand in hand. Men that are extremely handsome often enjoy being babied because their looks have usually carried them and helped them somewhat in life. It's as though they have been catered to, usually because they are so handsome.
As far as Elvis is concerned...I would have been available for either part, treating him like a baby, or treating him as the sexiest man on earth. A little role playing might have been fun!![]()
This is a particularly astute observation. I can attest to this being true and directly relate to Elvis in this respect.
I thoroughly enjoy being babied and encourage it readily!
I am also completely incapable of dealing with my own life in a conventional manner.
This is not sarcasm, by the way- I'm genuinely impressed by your insight here.![]()

It's been my observation that most men since my generation like to be babied and I have no explanation as to why that is. I don't recall my own father or my father-in-law nor any other man in their generation for needing that attention and they generally were more responsible and not afraid of work. My mother and mother-in-law were the ones who were babied and so were all the other women I knew of their generation.

I don't think it necessarily involves being "afraid of work", though.

The only time l baby my man if he is sick and or really hurt himself but if thats not happening than l don't baby him and Likewise with me.I think the being babied with elvis was maybe his upbringing. elvis was unqie and very special and very interesting to know all the things he never lost touch with from his past. galdys and elvis had that special way with eachtogther. a bond that was never broken but close till the end and at peace now with her son right beside her and looking down at Lisa marie and her childen.

I think being the only child had as much to do with it, as being extremely handsome.
Children who are the only child do have a tendency to get babied by their moms and Elvis certainly had a mom who catered to him. When someone is given that kind of attention as a child it starts the idea that "being babied is the way its suppose to be" That it is okay, because mom would not do anything thats not okay. Another personality trait picked up in the first years of life.
My mom was not an only child but was sickly, she had rheumatic fever in the early 1940s. In those days it was strict bedrest-she was waited on hand and foot for over a year my aunt tells me. It definitely put the idea in her head that she should be catered to. I have watched as all her life when she feels neglected or is in trouble of some kind-she is suddenly sick. Someone then has to take care of her and also what ever problem "she got sick over"
I would have babied him 24/7.All those things that you find wrong w/him are the things that made him ELVIS!!!!
Never said I feel that trait in him was something I felt was "wrong" with him. (just to clarify)
I know, or it would have hurt my feelings!![]()

I don't feel there is anything wrong with being babied but I think as in Elvis' case the babying was all one-sided because he was used to it and expected it.

Yeah, and I can't get into all that baby 'talk', actually. That's a little creepy. Calling feet 'sooties' and stuff.![]()

Baby talk to Elvis??? Are you kidding? It would be my pleasure! I would say "Come to Momma" in a heartbeat!!![]()
