With all the elections over now.I was wondering did Elvis manage to get out to vote ? Is there any info on his political choice and was he a registered voter in the state of Tennessee?. I can only imagine he would have had to have an absentee ballot but you never know with Elvis,he may have gone out into the crowds.
I know he went to visit Nixon and was known to call Carter for help ,but did he vote for either of these? since they both represent different political parties!.

He never voted because he was afraid that the info would get out and hurt his career. I wonder if Parker may have suggested to E that he not vote.

I know he respected presidents (i.e. Kennedy, Nixon, Carter) and truly loved them, but I'm not sure if he ever voted.

With regard to voting, like a lot of us, the private Elvis would have been perhaps, different from the public Elvis, and not want to discuss private matters, makes sense, doesn't it? Reading Marty Lacker's thoughts on politics, I wouldn't be surprised if they all had animated discussions, in private.
Like sex is/was supposed to be private, lol, with regard to people finding about about voting preferences, who knows? I would hope not, but if people kept and tried to sell a paper cup that Elvis may or may not have touched for a fortune, who knows. Again, hope not, but they wouldn't leave him alone.
Information CAN be leaked. There is no 100% guarantee that his voting info wouldn't have been leaked. Other than just not participating in the voting process. And that is just what he did.
I'm not saying ur wrong, but I did read that in a book. I know not all books are accurate, but I strongly believe he could have felt that, if the info did get out he would lose fans. And we all know they were everything to him

Politics
Elvis was primarily a strong conservative, tempered with a compassionate liberalism. He was patriotic to a fault and believed in giving back to his country a share of what had been given to him (so he was never involved in tax reduction, avoidance or minimisation schemes). He also thought it was important to support the President regardless of his political party. Elvis didn't think it was right to take a political stand in public on issues and use his influence to mould public opinion.

As for him not wanting to discuss his political beliefs in public like on June 9th 1972 MSG Press Conference when he declinded to discuss his political beliefs he kindly declinded...that was an instance where he probably felt it would divide his fan base had he went public with his politcal stand point so i think he just kept it to himself..
