    Getlo,

To the best of your knowledge, when was the memorial marker for Jessie placed in the Meditation Gardens? Was it done during the time possibly when Elvis and Gladys were moved to Graceland or after tbe passings of Elvis, Gladys, Vernon & Minnie Mae?

    I know that's probably a stupid question.....

I'm glad that information is not public, i don't want to image what people would do if they knew where the real grave site is..I'm sure theres someone out there who knows..I'm betting Billy does and of course he's not going to say where...

As I recall, it was done around the time that Elvis and Gladys were moved there, and before Vernon and Minnie Mae died.

I did see "Cilla" on Larry King talking about Elvis looking for Jesse's grave. You may be able to find it in the Larry King transcripts if ya wanna dig. She said he did look and was very hurt that he could not find his brother and bring him to Graceland.

I too remember reading/hearing somewhere that Elvis did return to Tupelo to try and find his grave but was unsuccessful. I am glad that it hasn't became a spectical for people to go and gauk at. I believe his soul is with God and he has peace.

It's sad they forgot where Jessie is buried. In my family graveyard they usually put a brick with it carved in the brick. Back when people couldn't afford a headstone..then later found the grave and put up a fancy one!

I've always heard that the plaque at Graceland is just in honor of Jessie and that Jessie is still burried in Mississippi somewhere.

There is a granite headstone in Meditation Garden, but the baby is buried in Mississippi.

It is just a marker for Jesse Garon and not his actual grave.

I know Jesse was stillborn but I wonder did Vernon or Gladys have a chance to see him or hold him before he was buried.
No one can know for sure, but I would doubt it, simply because it wasn't the done thing years and years ago for a stillborn baby to be given to the parents to hold and spend time with, the way it is now.

I think if Elvis would have found Jesse's grave in Tupelo he would have brought his remains to Forrest Hill cemetery and had him reburried near their mother.

Maybe not. It would have possibly disturbed the graves around it.

If Gladys and Vernon were too poor to give Jesse a proper a proper headstone, how could they have afforded to make the long trip "close to the sea" and bury him there?

What special connection did Gladys and Vernon have to the sea that they would want to bury Jesse there instead of in his home state?

Which Kurt Russell film are you talking about?
