No reporters were inside Graceland when the funeral was going on-and the rumors were rampant about who was there. Many of them (such as this one) were just totally not true.
I read Burts autobiography and I do not recall him mentioning he was at the funeral in 77. I have seen him in many interviews and never heard him say he was there-but have heard him discuss Elvis.
He had a short lived interview show on TNN which at one time was the Nashville Network and he asked old and new country artists questions-I do recall him speaking of Elvis and asking country stars what they thought of him-but no claim that he was at the funeral.
I believe when Burt said that he was at the funeral was when he was on either the Jay Leno show or David Letterman. I do remember him saying it one of their shows. Or some talk show.

I perosnally don't know if he was or wasn't there. I am just basing my info on him saying that he was. Maybe he lied to make himself look more improtant. I don't know.

    Really?

Where? When? What publication? What news program? What web link?

Any serious fan knows Reynolds wasn't there. Nor was Farrah, John Wayne et al.

This is bloody nonsense, and it's crap like this that allows myths to stay in the Elvis world and more idiocy to flourish.

Exactly. You believe. You think. You do not know. You're relying on a faded memory.

If Reynolds had mentioned this somewhere, it would have been discussed as fact in the Elvis world. But it has not. He was not there.

I don't know if he would lie-but I'm positive from all the evidence of the last 31 years he was not.
You say a station had a clip on their website-that would be proof positive-what station or website was that at? If they have it then this rumor-would be confirmed.

Do you ever say anything nice in your life? I don't know who pissed you off but everything you ever post on here is some type of snide remark. You have a personality just like Marty Lacker who I've gotten into it with at the Memphis CA before for his cockiness and arrogance.

Now as for your reply, I'll just say.....you win, you're right and everyone else is wrong. Will that make your ego feel better and boost higher?

No, I didn't say a station but a talk show. Big difference.

Try again, pal o' mine. Go back through the posts, here and elsewhere. Who was the first to chime in with the snide comments? Hint: it wasn't me. It never is in the first instance. Ever.

Marty Lacker knows a lot about Elvis. More than you, clearly. So I'll take that as a compliment.

Yes, I am. I learn more about Elvis every day, and when I'm right, I'm right.

There is not, and it was not. The footage on the website, which I still have, does not show Burt Reynolds. There is mention of a rumour that he may turn up.

    He did not.

Thanks for just proving my point of your cocky arrogance.

    Ah, yes "arrogance".

The catch-cry of those fighting a losing battle.

Your point was that Reynolds was at the funeral. He was not.

    Accept it.

Learn from those who know more than you. Like most people on here.

I must say your previous incarnation here was somewhat more pleasant than this one.

There has been more than one occasion (I think up to three occasions where I have quietly posted something in reply) where you have been wrong, what's the big deal on trying to humiliate people? Does it really feel that good?

Heck, who cares? What is written should be taken as you would a grain of salt, for good reasons that have been mentioned, previously.

Then post them. I'm not saying I'm never wrong, but to post erroneous BS like Reynolds at the funeral when there is undeniable, abject proof that he was not is plain ridiculous. Like I said, when I know I'm right, I'm right. And I will fight to the death to have the truth about Elvis out there, and stop silly "facts" like this bobbing up. Again.

That poster did a fine enough job of that himself, thank you. I will seek to expose those who put up incorrect information and pass it off as gospel, especially when all evidence shows them to be wrong.

I care, about absolute truth when it comes to Elvis. And so should you. Perpetutating falsehoods - ones that have been discredited by proper sources other than here - is patently futile. Or it should be.

I'll remember your "grain of salt" comment next time someone suggests Elvis was nothing but a fat, worthless drug addict. (And let's just say I've had my filla those kinds of people. Ahem ... )

Well, Getlo, we all know that you get your kicks from running others down, and attempting to humiliate them; so, I'm sure, that most people are above being in a "co-dependency relationship" with you; hence why some just say something, and then ignoreb you completely, as I am going to do, now.

How do you feel about the proposed changes at Graceland, remixes and duets?

Getlo, i very rarely involve myself in threads like this, i'm only interested in Elvis's music which is important to me, but, you know what? I like you.
