I think she is very entertaining, and she is obviously very capable-but I think in real court her "TV tactics" would lead to many rulings being overturned in appeal. Sometimes she seems to have already made her mind up before she hears each side. But she is fun to watch.
I think she is the worst judge that came to be. Real judges do not act like that in real court. She is only acting like that to boost her ratings.

I meant a few judges in my life that were pretty mean like her, but IMO she would make me think twice about getting into trouble

We need more people around in her position, like that, it's a pity that it is probably just all show!
Part of her act like that for show..... can be so true.... if not.. her show will not be aired for that loong period of time.
She is one heck of a smart lady ...

I am sure that when she was in real court-she did not bully either side-nor deny people to totally give their story, evidence, and witnesses.-which she does regularly on her show.
I do not know how many times she has stopped people in mid sentence and told them-"thats not true" and then denied them to continue giving their testimony.
She may very well be correct that what these individuals are saying is not true-but the laws of this country say they are entitled to make their case that "It is true" which requires they be allowed to continue until they are finished presenting their case. In a public court-she would be overturned in appeal left and right. Good TV-does not translate-justice. In her court she is the final say-thats TV court not the true legal system at work.
She is probably getting out all the frustration of being bound for years to the process we call the "public courts" The same laws which protect the true criminals- protect us also.
But their are times when I say-YES Judge Judy!

I find her a bit of a show-off as well but there are times when I want to applaud the way she handles certain people.
