O.J. Simpson: This Time He's Guilty!

Oct. 3, 1995: O.J. Simpson acquitted of killing ex-wife Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Oct. 3, 2008: O.J. Simpson found guilty of a dozen crimes, including armed robbery and kidnapping, that could put him away for life.

Exactly 13 years after he skated on the murder rap, and after 13 solid hours of deliberations, a Las Vegas jury convicted the Hall of Fame running back and erstwhile Naked Gun star of masterminding a raid on two sports memorabilia dealers.

Tasked by District Court Judge Jackie Glass to reach a verdict or work through the weekend, the nine-woman, three-man panel stayed late at the Clark County Courthouse, even having dinner delivered, before reaching the verdict shortly before 10 p.m.

About 40 minutes later, Simpson entered the room to learn his fate. After the judge read the verdict, Simpson, 61, and codefendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart, 54, were cuffed and hauled away. They will remain locked up until their Dec. 5 sentencing.

Simpson's daughter, Arnelle, and sister, Carmelita Durio, clutched each other as each count was ticked off. They cried as Simpson was led out by officers and then Durio collapsed, prompting a call to paramedics.

Simpson attorney Yale Galanter—who in Thursday's closing arguments called his client "stupid" for staging the so-called "sting" operation but said he did nothing criminal—has already vowed an appeal.

Jurors declined to talk to the media about their reasoning.

According to authorities, Simpson and five other men barged in on the two memorabilia collectors, Bruce Fromong and Alfred Beardsley, at the Palace Station, an off-Strip Las Vegas hotel, on Sept. 13, 2007. Simpson believed the two men had items that had been swiped from him.

Several of his accomplices cut deals, leaving Simpson to stand trial with Stewart, a Vegas mortgage broker.

All told Simpson and Stewart were convicted of 11 felonies (conspiracy to commit kidnapping; conspiracy to commit burglary; burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon; and two counts each of first degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon; robbery with use of a deadly weapon; assault with a deadly weapon; and coercion with use of a deadly weapon) and one gross misdemeanor (conspiracy to commit a crime).

It's about time! Although, I"m ticked that it took them fourteen years (I'm counting back from the time Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson were murdered and O.J. was first thought of as a suspect) to come to the correct verdict (even though both situations are/were completely different).

He deserves what he's getting. As they say in prison, he better not drop the soap. lol

Let's go back to his first trial, By him running like he did in the infamous Bronco truck high speed chase should have then been enough evidence that he was guilty of the crimes. But as they say Karma is a you know what and I love her for coming back around and striking down this murderer. Now the NFL Hall Of Fame will have a lot to think about in the decision to remove his name from their legendary group of football stars. If they w were smart they would remove it but they won't becuaee of too many dam liberals in the coutnry that won't allow it.

The Juice is putting the squeeze on the justice system.

The attorney for O.J. Simpson has unsurprisingly requested a new trial for the NFL Hall of Famer, citing judicial errors and insufficient evidence for his across-the-board conviction on Oct. 3.

Simpson and codefendant Clarence Stewart were each found guilty of 12 counts, including armed robbery, kidnapping and assault, for holding up two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room and walking away with $100,000 worth of items.

Simpson, convicted 13 years to the day after being acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, maintained all along that the goods were his and he simply reclaimed his rightful possessions.

Sentencing is currently scheduled for Dec. 5. Both Simpson and Stewart are facing possible life terms.

Per documents filed Friday in Clark County District Court, Simpson attorney Yale Galanter says that, if Judge Jackie Glass does not grant a new trial, he will appeal the case to the Nevada Supreme Court.

Stewart's camp is also seeking a do-over, arguing that he never should have been tried alongside Simpson in the first place.

That whole case completely crushed my belief in the judicial system. If by chance he gets away with it again.....I'm done.

Same here, Diane. I couldn't believe it

If, by chance, he gets away with this...then, there is no judicial system!
