That doesn't sound like Elvis to me. Doesn't sound like his way of joking and no one ever said he would eat devilled eggs like that.
King of Rock ELVIS PRESLEY 'worked out' by eating pizza, motionless on an exercise bike.
The legendary singer piled on the pounds towards the end of his career, through compulsive eating and overuse of prescription drugs. And his 'exercise routine' to battle his bulging wasteline, only made him fatter - according to Elvis' singer pal Tom Jones.
Jones tells Uncut magazine, "I was great friends with him. But we never worked out together. As time went on and he started putting on weight, instead of regarding it as the problem it was, he started having fun with it.
"I saw him do it a few times, sitting on his exercise bike eating a pizza. We were in his suite at the Hilton in Vegas. He used to sit on it and put his feet on it but not touch the handlebars and say, 'Are you still working out, Tom? Me too, Look,' as he sat with his belly poking out and popped another devilled egg into his mouth."

I have a tendency to agree with both of you but Elvis did have quite an off the wall sense of humor. All I can say to it if he did is...so what?

On some interviews TJ brags how much him and Elvis were great friends and others there's snide little put downs.
Elvis gained a bit of extra weight but Tom obviously gained a little green eyed monster along the way!! imo![]()
I agree.I think Elvis was awared of his weight problem and he did'nt joke about it.He acepted it though and went on.I don't recall hearing or reading anywhere things like this
Elvis did have a sick sense of humor. Remember him going to the morgue to see dead people? I wouldn't put it past him to act like this as he didn't like to be told what to do or how to do it. That Was his biggest mistake in immaturity. Had he done pushups and situps he would have never gotten out of shape like he did. But unfortunately he had bad influences around him who were doing just as he was to take notice of his appearance to bring it enough to his attention.![]()
I don't think he was aware enough of what bad physical shape and health he was really in. I think he was so messed up on medication to realise what was wrong with him until it was too late for him to change. Esposito said in This Is Elvis that he knew how he looked and had grown to accept his appearance and I believe this is why he said "if you think I'm nervous you're right". He was concerned how his overweight appearance would look on TV.
I think his own definition of his humor would have been "Oblique"Originally Posted by Elvislives72;257242[B
