I voted for years 1968-1969, but I also like 1970-1972. I think his voice and appearance
were great.

I would choose the 1970-1972 period.
50's would be nice
If Tears Could Build A Stairway, And Memories A Lane, I'd Walk Right Up To Heaven And Bring You Home Again -
I couldn't vote because my choice would be from 1968 to 1973.

Although the era of Elvis that made me the fan that I am, 1972, would usually be my first choice, I had to go with 1973 - 1974. The 'Elvis Recorded Live In Memphis Tennessee" album is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of what I loved about Elvis' -live- shows in the 70's. I love hearing Elvis sing songs that aren't considered #1's for him. (e.g. 'Let Me Be There', 'My Boy', 'What Now My Love', 'Help Me', etc.)
And he was rockin' 1974 in my opinion. Just killer rockin'!

1974 was definitley a roller coaster and really when things were obvious Elvis was loosing control of his life, personally, and professionally.
But I will say Dragon Heart is a favorite FTD of mine, you can tell he's on something that gave him an extra kick but I still enjoy the performanes, Midnight and Bridge, Mountain...Superb...imo...
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977
without going into any elaborate explanation..i m gonna go with -75-77

1955-1957, 1972-1976. But I'm very fond of the July 1975 shows for some reason...
Poke a little sock salad...
I voted for '68-'69 because I think that he looked his best and he found himself again after many years of not performing live. He expressed so much confidence again, he was so handsome that he could take your breath away.
Goodbye Rosanne...Your "family" in TCB will always remember you.
When I was young I did appreciate all his different "looks" and styles. But I found most "resonance" (to formulate my thesis in such terms) with the last two years of his life, 'cause that's the way I felt. Most guys like me typically end up shooting bullets at school, but I didn't and that was my present for the world.![]()
all the goons I left behind,
memories still linger..
69/70 for me
"NO-ONE, BUT NO-ONE,IS HIS EQUAL, OR EVER WILL BE. HE WAS, AND IS SUPREME".Mick Jagger
i would pick 69, but the real option should be 69-70, cuz he really didnt give any concerts in 68, xcept for the comeback special.
Play it James!
I voted for 68 - 69, he looked best during those years. In the 50's he looked to cutie, young and sweet, in the 70's he started gaining weight. But 68 - he looked handsome, manly, just terrrrriffiicccc!
