Thread: Did he have any redeeming qualities????????

Did he have any redeeming qualities????????

It was mentioned today that some feel that Elvis gets a bad rap here as being a lousy husband, lousy boyfriend, lousy lover, lousy friend, lousy business man...the list goes on and on. I think he had much more going for him. This is not the thread to discuss the MM, Priscilla, Col. Parker, drug abuse or any other negative thing associated with Elvis. Please share his redeeming qualities ONLY.

Please let it be known that those are NOT the traits I think of in regards to him, just how I feel others view him at times.
After all.....I know for a fact that he was PERFECT!

I think the quote you are using was done in a sarcastic way!! I know the person you are quoting did not mean that they thought Elvis was a lousy lover etc... I think we have to be careful when we quote people!

Aside from his no-contest incredible voice and looks, he was generous, had a great sense of humor and children and animals took to him immediately....and they are the ones who can really sense what a person is all about....nothing more to be said.

Elvis had many, many redeeming qualities. His voice, his moves, his love of his fans, his charitable work, his love of his family, and all his musical accomplishments. His redeeming qualities is why we remember him 31 years after his death!

In addition to being a devoted son, father, unbelievably beautiful, extremely charming, talented, generous to a fault, patriotic, had charisma oozing from his every pore, apparently very sensitive, he was also very intelligent and had a contagious laugh.

And he was a shy, humble boy, too.

I think the fact that he laughed at himself, that he did not really understand why he was ELVIS and that he remembered how it was to be poor are great qualitites. He loved to be ELVIS-but still thought it was funny and wondered why.
He loved to hear the screams when he shook his head-but still thought it was funny, still wondered why. I think if he could have pulled a Saturday Night Live type Wayne and Garth moment-he would have bowed at the audiences feet and said "I'm not worthy" To me the fact that he thought it was all funny and wondered "why me" is redeeming-because it shows the little poor boy from Tupelo never really left him completely. The insecurity and wonder of it all were still intact and he was human.

Elvis was a very special man from the begining to the end. Elvis was a great father to lisa and made sure she always felt special when he was around. I do think elvis could be a great husband . Elvis being a lover well l can't comment on that cause l really don't know if he was or wasn't, but he did make the girls feel like they were his number ones. I really admire how elvis treated his fans, he always had time for them no matter what was going on in his life. There will never be another elvis cause he was unique and had his own ways and nbody could walk in his shoes.

I don't remember reading posts and thought " wow , elvis is lousy " ... I think its just how people response to the topics where that bad side of Elvis had to mentioned( drugs etc. ) after all Elvis is only human and i said that so many times before.

Personally, I always think there will never be anybody like Elvis, he is a rare and special human being .. he describe what BEAUTIFUL is about .

He was a visionary talent, charming, generous, loyal to his friends and family and so good looking that it was deeply unfair on the rest of us.

Hard to say if anyone could walk in his shoes. Burt Lancaster they say, but I don't believe 'em.
