    Hello everyone

Edge of Reality was also a top five hit in Australia and Judy was also a hit.
I'm not sure what Brazil and Indonesia were thinking about pushing those two songs to the top

The first ever number one record in the Irish charts was "She`s not you" in 1962...I guess that might not be exactly "unusual" but there it is!

Edge of reality was a #1 hit in Australia I believe. I like the song I think it's good, judy is alright. The songs I posted I felt were unusual #1's because of the lack of quality. Here in the states Sylvia is regarded as a piece of junk, a lackluster throwaway album cut but in Brazil it was huge. Do the Clam also gets bashed for being a terrible song and way out of style when it came out in 1965 but it was hugely popular throughout Asia hitting #1 in at least 3 Asian countries and even in the states it hit a respectable #21
As for the Love Machine it's considered a bad song by most fans at the worst time in Elvis career but it hit #1 in Indonesia.

Here are some other unusual #1 hits

    No More #1: Italy,Spain
King oif the whole wide World #1 Norway
Joshua fit the battle (of Jericho) #1 Sweden
    Kiss me Quick #1 Brazil
    Bossa Nova Baby #1 Belgium
    Summer Kisses #1 Tiawan
    Animal Instinct #1 Thailand
    AllC (original 1968) #1 Singapore
    Tutti Frutti 1957 #1 Italy
    King Creole 1958 #1 Sweden

(Also the song Wooden Heart made it to #1 throughout Europe and South Africa and if released as a single in the U.S. I believe in would've hit #1 as well.)

If Elvis ever went on a tour of Asia he would've had some unusual song requests.

I meant if released in 1960 right after the release of Gi Blues

I knew it was released as the b side of Blues Christmas but never as an A side
and 4 years too late to have a hit.

Sorry that was not clear to me-but I knew it was released as a single because I bought it when it was. It was also the flip side of "Puppet on a String" in 65

Only one that surprises me here is Do The Clam from 1965. All others are really good songs though...

Me too I think Elvis had a natural gift for that kind of humor and Live A Little, Love A Little always makes me smile.

The Edge of Reality dream sequence is bizarre!
In fact the whole concept of a woman setting her dog on Elvis (for not making-out with her) then drugging and imprisoning him for days is pretty extraordinary if you think about it!
Imagine how Elvis must have felt when he read that script?!
It sounds more like the synopsis of a psychological horror movie than a comedy!
    'Taking Care of Beaulieu'.
