Hey Simmerocks,
How have you been?
In answer to your original question, 'Are we getting spoiled?'...my answer is not at all. Those of us in the age group of ......mumble, mumble.....were starved for Elvis material for a very long time. Some of the fans had access to the import releases, but some of us didn't, and now with the technology we have, ie computers and DVD's those that were fortunate enough to have the material are more than willing to share. Ernst and Co. have been a God send to the Elvis fan. Now we can go into the recording studio with Elvis and just for a while pretend we are part of the history making process of Elvis recordings. There are the knockers, and what a great part of the world we live in so that these people can have their say, but to the knockers, I would suggest to them, they put their Elvis CD's away for a few years and only have the medium of radio to hear an Elvis recording. That may give you some idea of exactly what it was like for a lot of us. O.K., you say, we had vinyl and tapes to listen to, but for me it was a case of having my vinyl and tapes 'borrowed' and never returned. Bad, bad.......Not happy about that one I can tell you......

you're right simmerocks...i think i've been spoiled alot with many elvis records, but as you said some ( quality ) are not as good as the good ole days,.... i think it has something to do with technology, with all that what we got now people would search whatever that is call 'rare' but they didnt think the quality of them,..the old days, when elvis still around.. IMO it had something to do with give the public the only best of artist recordings,..of course they would not release those with 'crappy' quality..what they wanted was fans getting the best of them ,so at the end they get the best out of it too ( money )..
