Which song that Elvis DIDN'T perform or sang would you like to hear him sing it?

My personal choice is ''Country Roads take me Home'',originally sang by John Denver...Elvis would have preformed it soo much better..!
    Please,tell me your opinion!

    Crazy for crying

Maybe "Crazy" written by Willie Nelson, but well-known by Patsy Cline. The chordal structure is rather complex (as to offer a challenge) and his voice with its full and rich tonality would have added something..

I think that the song "You Can Leave Your Hat On", which was done by Tom Jones is AWESOME and Elvis would have done an equally good job on this. I also think that Otis Redding's song, "These Arms Are Mine" would have been a great choice for him. Both can be found on YT if anyone is interested.

Here you can see the lyrics dear, you're right, it's beautiful:

    Only the lonely
    (r.orbison/melson)

    Dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah
    Ooh-yay-yay-yay-yeah
    Oh-oh-oh-oh-wah
    Only the lonely

    Only the lonely (dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah)
Know the way I feel tonight (ooh-yay-yay-yay-yeah)
    Only the lonely (dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah)
Know this feelin ain't right (dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah)

    There goes my baby
    There goes my heart
    They're gone forever
    So far apart

    But only the lonely
    Know why
    I cry I cry...
    Only the lonely

    Dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah
    Ooh-yay-yay-yay-yeah
    Oh-oh-oh-oh-wah
    Only the lonely

    Only the lonely
Know the heartaches I've been through
    Only the lonely
Know I cried and cried for you

    Maybe tomorrow
    A new romance
    No more sorrow
But that's the chance - you gotta take
    If your lonely heart breaks
    Only the lonely

    Dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah

Yes "You Can Leave Your Hat On" would have been a great one. Written By Randy Newman I have always liked it.

I think Elvis would've done great on several songs from U2's
"The Joshua Tree" CD, had he lived beyond 1977:
"I still haven't found what I'm looking for"
    "Angel of Harlem"
    "With or without you"

    and also later U2 songs:
    "One"
    "She moves in mysterious ways"

or the one Roy Orbison recorded:
    "Mystery Girl"

There's a melancholy to many U2 songs that I can just hear
    Elvis' voice doing.

I think that Elvis would have sounded so AWESOME on this song also -- "The Thrill is Gone" by B. B. King -- its got that funky beat and sounds dirty -- I am sure that Mr. King would have been quite honored.

Thanks for the Tom Jones video Liz. I love his deep throaty voice..always have.

My choice of a song I've wanted to hear Elvis sing is "Old Time Rock n' Roll" by Bob Seger. Other than quite a few of Elvis songs, this is my favorite...says it all.

He Aint Heavy He's My Brother

    Sleepy Hollow by Roy Orbison
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley
