    DID ELVIS HAVE Marfan Syndrome?

I came across this and thought, Elvis had a lot of these symptoms, just thought I'd share, what do you guys think?

    Marfan Syndrome

    Also called: Arachnodactyly

Marfan syndrome is a disorder that affects connective tissue. Connective tissues are proteins that support skin, bones, blood vessels and other organs. One of these proteins is fibrillin. A problem with the fibrillin gene causes Marfan syndrome.

Marfan syndrome can be mild to severe, and the symptoms can vary. People with Marfan syndrome are often very tall, thin and loose jointed. Most people with Marfan syndrome have heart and blood vessel problems, such as a weakness in the aorta or heart valves that leak. They may also have problems with their bones, eyes, skin, nervous system and lungs.

I don't know, but I think Elvis was average height, he wasn't very thin (except when he was on a diet and working out regularly) and if he would have been loose jointed he would have probably injure himself multiply times while doing his dances on stage.

And as for the other symptoms I think they appeared only after a long period of taking his presripted drugs everyday, which most definitely took a tall on his body and especially his heart and veins. Haven't heard about his bone probs before. And as for his eyes, skin and lung probs, it could be genetics, or caused by a lot of other things in his stressful life.

I'm no doctor and I'm not saying there's no way he had this Marfan Syndrome, I'm only saying that we can't just jump to conclusions, based on some syndroms, which maybe a lot of people can relate to and don't have the disease in question. Doctors probably have to run some quite complicated tests to find out whether a person is suffering from a particular syndrom.

"heart valves that leak" I think that if he had a leaky heart valve it would have been picked up when he had his army physical. I don't remember any mention of Elvis having a heart murmer.
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.

Actually, Elvis was much taller than what is considered "average" for American men. Most medical reports will say that that the average height for American men is 5' 9" tall.

..sorry for going a bit off topic for a min,

but am a bit confused, cos some sources say that Elvis was 5'11'', some claim he was 6' or even 6'1'' tall..exactly how tall was he then ?

There are so many conflicting stories about how tall Elvis was, but I bet Rosanne would agree with me that he was somewhere between 5 11-3/4 to 6 ft tall.

The above symptoms for Marfan's Syndrome don't sound like something Elvis had at all.

That photo of the hand looks just like Elvis' hand. I was just asking everyone's opinion, looks like it's leaning towards, No he didn't have it.

Yes, you are right Diane. The army shows him as just a "whisker" under 6 feet. And, NO...Elvis didn't have Marfan's Syndrome.

OK, thanks Diane . If you say so, then it is so, cos it's you two who saw him live .

MojoElvis, I wasn't faulting you at all. You saw this article, you were curious and I realized that.

The fingers in the pictures are much too long and skinny, not slim, to be anything like Elvis'. He just had "musician hands". I have the same kind of hands, long fingers but nowhere as long as those in the photograph.

Diane, you think he was joking? To me it seemed like it was very moving for Bill when Elvis said this to him....I don't think this was the right moment for a joke....but then again it was Elvis...

I think he was joking also Diane. There would be no reason for Elvis to lie about how tall he was when we have all seen and read the reports from the Army.

wow, now even 6'2'' lol, I too think that Elvis was joking there & altho it was quite a moving moment for Elvis and Bill, it sounds a lot like Elvis to make a little joke at the end so he would make Bill smile, which practically is not a joke, if that makes any sense lol.

Thanks for posting this vid anyway, haven't seen it before and really enjoyed watching it .

Either the whole story was fake or Elvis was messing with his head. There's no way Elvis was 6'2". With heals he barely reach the six foot mark for his FBI Narcotics Badge mugshot.
