Thread: Elvis Stutz

    Elvis Stutz

This is a pic of the inside of Elvis' Stutz as it is parked out in front of the Hilton. This was 08/06/1973. My parents and I stood and made LOTS of pics of the car and we talked with Jerry Schilling and Joe Esposito about the car. A guy was leaving with it the next day to drive it back to Memphis. Well...I also have pics of it on the Interstate the next day. Sorry to add that one member has already left a comment in the gallery that it's not Elvis' car. If it's not...then Jerry and Joe were both lying! The gold plaque that you see?? That has the name Elvis Presley on it.

When I get older I am going to buy one of those and restore it. I SWEAR.
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

Sorry to hear that people don't believe that the car belonged to Elvis. Perhaps they should look at the book "Elvis, Linda and Me" by Jeanne LeMay Dumas. There is a photo of her sitting in the same car and you can see the same gold plaque.

I love your photos and stories Roseanne, please keep them coming

This is exactly what I was talking about in another thread where I said when people who were there post photos or stories and then get called liars - it REALLY makes you not want to say a darn word!!!

I always thought that was the "ultimate in cars"
It was so sleek looking! For a while it was my dream car-then reality hit and I had a 1960 Chevy Impala for my first car

Like I have said before....anyone that does NOT believe the
authenticity of Gail and Rosanne as Elvis fans...
and their stories of being fans of Elvis over the years...are fools!
Anyone with two cents of brains that know ANYTHING about
Elvis history can tell you two are truth tellers!

All I can say is keep the pictures, stories, and videos
    coming!

I will never forget you Rosanne.

I'm sure this sounds strange now, but back then none of us thought any of the MM were a big deal. We had NO CLUE what would eventually come to pass with all those guys. Better yet.........I did NOT take a pic of my Dad shaking hands with Vernon Presley.

Thats so true IMO looking back-they were nameless faces who you knew as the MM or the bodyguards, or to some the yes men. The faces were not always the same and who was really looking at them to start with if Elvis was among them. Now we know the associations they had and what they did only because they have written so much and been interviewed so much.

I never even took a camera to the International/Hilton Vegas
    for a couple reasons....

    1. I just simply wasn't thinking thirty years down the line
at that time. Mostly I was thinking and worrying what to wear
and how to get a kiss.

    2. There was a HUGE sign upon entering the showroom that no cameras were allowed.

The MM were not the focus of any of us fans back in the day.
Only since Elvis' death and them making themselves the big deal...have they become the big deal with some fans.

I will never forget you Rosanne.

Yes...both of you are spot on. I spent 3 summers in a row sitting in the lobby of the Hilton watching those guys come and go, come and go. I never gave them a 2nd thought. I was merely hoping that their Big Boss Man might come strolling through. I'm sure that it's hard for people to understand this.....but they simple were NOT a big deal. If we had a glimpse into the future, sure we would have paid a little more attention to them, but we didn't.

I never did see the MM around when we went to the two concerts but I did take a good look at the singers and musicians so I could get the whole picture but not for long....Elvis grabbed my attention right back, right quick.
