I think Elvis learned a few tricks of the trade from the great Mario Lanza.Elvis had a powerful voice in the '70's.

I watched that one long ago... No competition for Elvis in vocal range...

The versions from December 27th-31st 1976 circa put the version from the Moody Blue album to shame.

Elvis didn't just have volume, but a quality in tone as well. That's why I do like him, but no other big-voiced "rock stars".

nice video so many great songs elvis had a great vocal range thats why i love his voice from 68-77 so many styles so many different tones and he could sing different versions of different songs but he did have more of an opera tone to his voice in later years

"I don't really think Elvis' voice was significantly lower than those of any other baritones. The colour of the voice and the sense of warmth and richness of tone gave the sense that the voice was much deeper. Elvis, in fact, did not force his lower register, comfortable as he was with it, which in turn gave the impression that it was lower than those of other baritones."

Brian Gilbertson, world famous voice teacher, explaining the deepness of Elvis Presley's lower registry
"More people today should see him not simply as a performer, but as an artist with a great soul."

    University of Memphis

His voice seemed to match up with the high baritone, but he sounded unexpectedly low and/or high at times. Very agile and versatile.
