    TTWII Outtakes 32 dvdset

Anyone tell me the contents of this set.

I have the 6dvdset already, and now have the 31 dvdset of TTWII outtakes coming my way with around 30 hours of footage on it.

Are there any footage collectors out there, this is not a ask for a trade or anything so mods please don't delete it. The purpose of this thread is to discuss Elvis footage from TTWII

I heard theres about 30 hours of footage on the set and in the best quality even if Turner, MGM or whoever decided to release it officially it wouldnt' be much better than this?

I don't know what shows are on these dvd's, thats why I posted here wanting to know more about them

I didn't buy these a friend is sending them to me...but a description of what each dvd contains would be nice. Much of the footage I already know is silent but the quality is suppose to be the best around from what i've read.........

You will find that there isn't a great deal of difference between the 6 DVD set and the 31 DVD set. Both sets have around 30 or so hours on them, depending on which version you have.

And a lot of that footage isn't Elvis, it's other stuff.

Audience and hotel scenes mostly. A lot of the other stuff that was seen in both versions of the films.

Would you say the quality is much better than the 6 disc set ?

From what I've seen, there is little difference between the 6, 11 and 31-32 disc sets regarding picture quality. Most of the ones available are acceptable.

Also bear in mind that I have the 6 and 11 disc versions, and they're almost exactly the same. From what I've seen of the 31-32 disc version, it is again the same footage mostly.

So you may have found another version of it with more concert stuff. If you've seen the 6 disc version, you can do a comparison with our 31 disc set.

Hopefully this has more concert stuff as you say.

Going to give my 6 disc set another watch so when I do get the 31 discset I can make a good comparison between the two.

Thanks for the words Getlo, you collect alot of footage?

I ended up with a couple of hundred hours on VHS, but I've only got a dozen or so concert movie DVDs. After a while, the footage is a bit samey.

I have all of the available outtakes of TTWII and EOT.

Do you have Elvis In Concert on dvd? I've hear its around, and its the best CONCERT ever, that he did.

  13. #13
no way can Elvis in Convcert ever be descirbed as the best concert he ever did,far from it Im afraid. To be honest, its not as bad as some people make out and it should get an offical release but there are copies out there that are excellent quality-i even got a top notch VHS version over ten years ago!!!But,sadly, this isnt the confident ultimate supreme performer we saw on TTWII ,Aloha,on Tour and NBC...but it isnt as bad as some expect either. Its a human being who was very ill and shouldnt have been allowed to be subjected to the glare of the cameras. He appears nervous and vocally isnt at his best except for a few standout performances(How great thou art anyone?unchained melody?). it actually makes me cry to watch this still after all these years but if you want a copy mail me direct
    d-cole2@sky.com
i also have outtakes from RAapid City and Omaha but quality not as good

I know what you mean, but to have the concerts taped with the 8mm camera by fans is alot different than watching the same ol live stuff from ttwii, 68 special, and aloha etc. Something different so to speak.

I have all of the available outtakes of TTWII and EOT.
I say I will too after I get this set. I sure wish though more EOT outtakes would become availabe, our best shot at getting them would definitley be on the import market!

Yes it really is. Listen to him when introducing JD Sumner at Rapid City, it was horrible to watch and listen to him try to speak.

    should get an offical release
I too would love to see this, maybe through the FTD label, but doubt it will ever happen. Just being realisitic.

but there are copies out there that are excellent quality
Agreed, I have a version out there from a friend overseas and it looks just like the clips we get from Elvis By The Presley's.

but it isnt as bad as some expect either. Its a human being who was very ill and shouldnt have been allowed to be subjected to the glare of the cameras
Your right he should not have been on that tour a-tall, but Elvis was in dire need of money at the time and felt he owed to much to too many people. When you talked to Elvis about taking a break, he would say, I Have A Payroll.

Would you say the 3 disc set of EOT outtakes and the 2dvdset from Star Through My Eyes has much of the outtakes that are out there ?
