Thread: Elvis at his happiest

    Elvis at his happiest

Elvis lived a fast-paced, highly unusual lifestyle than any of us can imagine. His life has been the topic of more books than we can count.

From these written accounts, what time of Elvis' life did he appear to be the happiest, both professionally and personally, and why? (please keep it positive and clean, folks!!)

I think that time was when Lisa Marie was born.

    .

From 1968 (Lisa Marie) until early 1971.

No question about it, the evidence speaks for itself.

I voted for 1954 - 1958 because fame was still new and exciting for him.

Professionally, he had some awesome moments that were proceeded with one of the lowest career times in 1968 - 1969 ('68 Comeback Special, recording at American Studios and the recordings that found their way to the top, and his return to live performances in Las Vegas which was absolutely phenomenal!!!!)

Personally, he got married and had Lisa Marie during this same time.

I think he was feeling pretty darn good about himself and his career.

I think 67-71 was when Elvis was happiest!

I think that was a special period in Elvis' life, where both personally and professionally he was in his ultimate !

Yes I agree, 1968 ( Lisa' birth and Comeback Special).
I also think the year he bought Graceland for his Mum ( I think 1957). I
think showing her Graceland for the first time would have brought him so much
    joy.

The happiest EVENT in his life may have been the birth of Lisa. But I vote that the happiest TIME of his life was 1954-1958. Indeed, everything new and exciting, acknowledgement, his parents (MOM!) still there to share the benefits of his success and him being able to do things for them, take their burdens away..... He must have felt very fulfilled and proud and happy that especially his mom was there to witness all that.

I voted for 1967-1971. Elvis got married. After they had Lisa Marie. Elvis's return to stage work. This was his happiest period.

I can't pick one. Yes, the beginning when his mom was alive. And then when he got married and had Lisa that first year. I'm not going to say all the way till 71, because the marriage broke down not long after Lisa was born.

I choose from 67 and 71 elvis got married and little lisa was born, but also when his mother was alive was also the happiest time for elvis.

    I agree.

When I first got interested in Elvis, and looked up old clips of him on YouTube, that's what struck me - how happy he looked back when he started out, how much he seemed to love what he was doing.
