I can't find the production company on IMDB, and a google search turned up all of 9 hits.

You might have a hard time getting hold of the movie if and when it's made even if you wanted it.

    Hi nyc

The production company is Canadian I am thinking it will probably end up being a t.v. movie though I could be wrong. Seeing as how it will be based on Sonny's book and his recollections I expect it to be better than David Stanley's movie or the poorly researched Elvis miniseries from 2005.
only thing is the casting I hope that they get the right actors to play everybody as that has been a major problem in other Elvis movies.
Kurt Russel did the best job and that 1979 t.v. movie was the best we've got so far imo.

P.S. The movie probably won't portray Colonel Parker as the villan this time as Sonny liked him and this movie will give a different perspective and be more pro Parker. which is something different

It could end up being a good movie, but I won't comment until I see it...

Sonny's involvement is no guarantee of quality or accuracy. The E True Story The Last Days of Elvis, which also had Sonny's participation, proves that.

We'll see how this turns out.

I'll predict it won't make anyone forget Ray or Walk the Line, however.

It's a bit different when something is based on your book than when you are appearing in an E! True Hollywood show to be fair.

I hope it does work out well.

    Hi nyc

I don't remember Sonny saying anything negative or bad on the E! special. I remember Lamar being the one to say some negative things about Elvis on that show.

It was Lamar who kept knockin' Elvis on that special..not Sonny.

According to Marty Lacker, he and Sonny both were unhappy with how that special turned out. He said their comments and stories were edited selectively.

And unless Sonny retains some sort of oversight/final approval rights, he won't have much to say about the making of this movie - or whatever this tiny Canadian independent company that doesn't register on IMDB is making out of his book.

Anything to make the story jucier and sick they will do.

Talking about the editors of the special, not the guys.

It was an E True Special. Sleaze, as everyone knows, is what they do.
