    Elvis 50's concerts v.s. 70's concerts

Hi Everyone how are all of you

I have question for all of you in the 70's it is well known that Elvis set several attendance records, breaking his own attendance records in vegas, setting recordings for the Houston Astrodome, breaking the Rollng Stones record for ticket sales on the west coast for his 1970, U.S. tour, 4 sold out Shows at MSG and setting various other records in others cities but did Elvis set any attendance records while peforming in the 50's. I have never heard anyone say, Does anybody know.

For 56, Elvis concerts were so big, he better stopped doing them. There's some info in the Elvis 56 documentary about the concerts from 1955-56. I can't remember the exact facts (still working on another research about semiotics, that I can barely breed), but that's is a nice source. Wish I could do some research for you now... 50s is my fav epoch.
Let the stars fade and fall, and I won't care at all, as long as I have you.

I do remember hearing that the concerts were so uncontrolable that they stopped touring.I guess this was late 1957..........how true that is I'm not sure.If I find out anymore for sure as far as resources......I'll post it here.
I've always favored the 70's cconcerts, because he was more dynamic and powerfull to me.

Interesting how most fans say 70's are their favorites when Elvis in the 1950's revlolutionized music literally all together...

    Hi Bradley

I found out that the biggest crowd Elvis played to in the 50's was a little over 26,000 fans at the Cotton bowl in Dallas in 1956, Elvis mentions this to Red Robinson in 1957 when he was in Canada. The Cotton bowl was a huge football stadium with a capacity of 70,000 to 80,000 so Elvis didn't set any any attendance records. your correct when you say Elvis revolutionzed music in the 50's but he set a whole lot of attendance records during the 70's.
I wonder if Elvis played the Cotton bowl again in the 70's how many people would have come to see him, would he have set or broke some type of attendance record? hmmm.
