Elvis and Priscilla Presley wedding dolls unveiled

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Barbie and Ken have a new look.

Managers of Elvis Presley's house in Memphis -- Graceland -- unveiled a new collectors set of Elvis and Priscilla Presley wedding day dolls on Tuesday.

The event was part of a weeklong lineup of events marking the anniversary of Presley's death on Aug. 16, 1977, at Graceland.

The Elvis and Priscilla dolls are dressed like the couple was at their wedding.

The set by Mattel -- the maker of the popular Barbie dolls -- retails for $65.

One, signed by Priscilla, was auctioned Tuesday, fetching $6,000. The buyer was Brenda Moore of Bentonville, Ark.

Another 190 were sold at Graceland, all bearing a special stamp denoting the occasion.

The set will go on sale to the general public later this year.

I wonder if you could turn the Pris doll into a voo-doo doll. And..to complete the set we need a little ugly karate doll with a hair-do bigger than what Pris even had.

Okay, serious question here, because I don't know anything about Barbie dolls.

Is is common to create collector sets like this for divorced couples?

This one is better. Notice the magic word between Elvis Presley and Priscilla.

Rock and roll legend ELVIS PRESLEY and his widow PRISCILLA have been immortalised in a set of dolls created by the maker of BARBIE.
The first-ever Elvis and Priscilla Presley dolls have been unveiled by toymaker Mattel.
The pair has been dressed in outfits replicated from their Las Vegas wedding in 1967.
Elvis is dressed in a black paisley print tuxedo with a boutonniere and black boots, while his bride-to-be wears a white chiffon and satin gown, complete with tiara and veil.
Saturday (16Aug08) marks the 31st anniversary of Presley's death at his Graceland home.

    She's worse than Benedict Arnold!

And that i-d-i-o-t lady Brenda Moore who spent $ 6000 on that shit that probably only cost $ 10 to make in China must've been brainwashed by the Scientolocult.

I know you don't like me but it seems terribly personal to mix your Cilla-loathing sentiments with anti-British imagery!

Seriously though, I desperately want a Cilla one (for obvious and questionable purposes) but wouldn't have much use for the Elvis figurine. Anybody want to split a pair and save some cash?

And $6000?! She'd have to be signing my nuts for that!!

I think the set is intended to celebrate a memorable moment in pop-culture history rather than an inspirational example of marital longevity.

Sometimes I worry that people have more money than sense.

I'd love a Pocket Priscilla, though.
And in a tiny wedding dress?!
The more I think about it, 6000 bucks doesn't seem like so much money after all.
Especially when you have the memory of the nut signing.

I saw on Entertainment Tonight that the Elvis & Priscilla dolls she autographed were auctioned off for charity. The proceeds went to Presley House.
