I would have been part of his sub-conscious. Someone to talk to, if needed, some company, wanting to give him comfort.
I would have told him that everything will be alright, that people do love you, that you will always be loved. I would give him a cuddle, holding him tight, wanting him to feel contented and at peaceb.
