Where did Lisa marie name came from??

Does anybody know the real reason why elvis chose Lisa marie?? I heard two different stories where the name came from, but l was wondering whats everyone thoughts about lisa's name. I don't really think elvis choose marie after anita, but l could be wrong.

I am not sure where Lisa came from, but it's been discussed back and forth many times as to Marie coming from Col. Parker's wife.

I don't think that's true according to Marty Lacker he said the name came from a 4 Amigos song Ava Marie. Elvis just liked the name Lisa I believe.
According to Marty when discussing marriage and having children with Anita wood they were going to name there daughter Marie, Marty had a daughter named Marie before Elvis had a daughter so Elvis named his Lisa Marie.

Thanks....I had heard that as well. I always thought it a bit odd that they would name her after Col. Parker's wife. Remember..they all said she would cheat at the game of Yahtzee.

They actually ended up honoring Minnie with the name Marie. According to babynames.com, they both mean "sea of bitterness".
