Yes, Elvis' trusted friend. A lovely, lovely man, who was trusted more, than a lot of the others. I've had enough, go and read your books, I'll keep talking to people who knew Elvis.

There are only a few sources I consider concrete. Why? Having known these people (somewhat)and having others around me who have known them, thus far I've never heard an untruth out of their mouths or hubs telling me they have been untruthful on any level. Not in non-Elvis stuff(just family dealings) not in Elvis stuff. Half of what has been related to me was done so before it came out to the public. And then most of it fits the puzzle if I research other material in connection with that information. I have been told other things by others who I can not trust their information because of their point of veiw. Therefore with that information being suspect I don't automatically believe it unless I can cooberate it with other information.
I just wonder if someone were to tell a story and involve you (Priscilla) and you knew it was likely that others would do so, if you all would just sit by and let a picture be painted of you in a negative light, that you would just let it be. These men protected Elvis for years. Elvis was no longer here and yet people think that they were still obligated to protect him at the expense of their own reputation. They should have taken the hit for him. Elvis had no idea that things would be said and written about them that were untrue or mean. How on earth would they tell their side if not to explain what life was like being a friend of Elvis if not told in whole??? (I'm not talking about EWH)
Do people think that because of Elvis's generosity to them they ought to continue to pretend what happened did not.
I can't say for sure what Elvis would have done. But when things were being said about Priscilla, and him, he defended it publically. Is there a small possiblity that he would be ok with his friends trying to defend themselves?
I for one have read and listened to people in my family slammed for years. Should I sit back and just read and not defend. Well, you sit here, you read, you listen and then tell me you could do it and say nothing? Then I feel you have the right to slam them for not defending themselves, to not tell their side of the story.

Books don't always tell the turth no matter how much you want to believe that and thats why l don't bother with books anymore but listern more to the fans who were around than. Some fans have been around in the 50's and 60's and the 70's so there stories are going to be different than what you read in the book. imagine if rosanne or gail wrote a book l can bet there stories are going to much different than what we all know from the mm or others.
Of course they would be different because they seen Elvis the entertainer, the superstar, when he was with his closest friends it was the man, he could act however he wanted around them. Thats a huge difference. I think its a thing where one don't want to read anything negative about Elvis or something of that sort, but to try and understand the elvis presley story all that goes along with it.

I agree with that.
also, MissyM, how are you related to Elvis's family? The Smith side or the Presley side.
Cousins of Smiths.
I do realize that some people will think/form and opinion and nothing said will ever change their minds. And often I just let things pass and say "Oh well." And then there are times when I do speak up because not all people have enough info to form that opinion and well, the truth means alot to me.
I do think one thing; as dysfunctional as these relationships may seem to us, as unbalanced as they may see, I'd bet my last dollar that most of the MM would have taken a bullet for their friend. I'm not defending all of what has been said and done by all of the MM but had they not done some of what they did, and protected Elvis in some ways they did, he very possibly could have been gone even sooner. I try to remember that.
