August 1st 1976 Elvis is in Hampton Roads Virigina. Gives a show @ 2:20pm and it was released by the Import label Fort Baxter titled The Bicentennial Elvis experience.

The show is probably the best ever soundboard recording but the performance Elvis gives is subpar some might say. He sounds extremely weak and has a very difficult time holding notes. But I find it a show I play very often. For some reason the performance of If You Love Me has always been one of my favorites.

Despite the voice sounded really off, Elvis tells the audience at the beginning of the show we had a late show lastnight and I only got a couple hours of sleep. He still managed to pull off a descent show IMO and gave the audience the best he could. He was obviously in very bad condition and the weight was probably the heaviest he ever was during this time.

I don't have a clue....back to "take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt" I guess. Sammy Davis Jr. was sitting next to me...if he were still alive he could vouch for him too!

Elvis flies to Los Angeles to meet Lind Thompson, who had just arrived from Memphis. That afternoon, they returned to Las Vegas.

What are you using for a source? This just proves you can not believe everything you read. BTW.....the CD is FIRE IN VEGAS.

    I envy you

What did you think of the performance of Raised On Rock. The first and only time it was ever performed live in concert.

The CD is FIRE IN VEGAS!!! You will hear Elvis get tickled during CHFIL. He was amused because he had just given me his last scarf of the night and Daddy said "Thank you Elvis" and gave Elvis a thumbs-up.

It was great! In fact....take a look at the song list for that night. IMO it was outstanding, a good mix and lots of BIG numbers.
