Just the idea he was "LIVE" in person would have been enough-but for him to give the performance which is described in the reviews of that show must have been the dream of a lifetime for anyone who loved Elvis. I recall seeing Rona Barretts "Hollywood Minute" or something like that on our local news the day after his opening-and just to see still photos on the screen was a thrill.
She gave him the same type rave review that everyone else had.
I hope one day we will be surprised to find they have a "Lost Recording" of that night which they just stumbled across.
Thanks for the reminds, think i am going to play Opening Night 1969 tonight for the occasion although I am fully aware its not acutally the July 31st 1969 performance.![]()
