I've never watched the whole "Elvis in Concert" special. I've only seen parts of it on Youtube, and I watch those videos quite frequently. It's quite entertaining, despite the way he looks.

Couldnt agree more..he seemed more relaxed and at peace with himself I think he definitley had accepted his appearence and such by this point and so did the fans....

    .

I fail to see how watching a mumbling, incoherent Elvis blather his way between songs is entertaining. (I refer more specifically to the two full shows here, not so much the actual special).

Having said that, EIC deserves at FTD release.

I`ve watched it all once when I got the DVD set, don`t know if I`ll ever do it again......When on youtube I run into a clip now and then, but that`s about it....I`ll sometimes play the In concert cd though(Whish that they would do an upgrade, because IMO Elvis actually sang with power in his voice till the very end..., but I don`t like all the fan talking and the sound could be better)

I hope FTD releases EIC on the classic album series and along with it remaster the Omaha and Rapid City shows and put them in much better sound and that would be great!!

I only watched the concert once in my whole life. Wacthed a couple of clips in YouTube, but not the whole video. There are some memorable performances there, like "My Way", that can't be left aside. I may re-watch my favorite part from that concert...

The concert from Rapid City on June 21st 1977 has to be considered one of the best shows from 1977 all together. Of course shows like An Arbor, Indy, Both Chicago shows and the Feb tour were really good I put Rapid City up there with em.

i watch the cbs special once a year...love to hear elvis voice in 77..only reason i dont see it often is because once a concert is in my collection i look for new stuff to see.otherwise i have no shame in seeing it elvis was the greatest weather in sickness or in health he gave everything he had for his fans . ..yeah sure it wasint the right time to make a tv special ..where the heck were the cameras when elvis did those memphis 74 concerts ..that would of been a perfect time to record a tv special.

Never! I find it much too painful. Even after all these years.

    Unhappy

I probably listen to the album more than watch the program. It just hurts to see Elvis in pain. I mean, some of the songs are totally mesmerizing, but like when Elvis forgets the words to 'Are You Lonesome Tonight?', I mean, he did a great job poking fun at himself during it, but when you really face the reality of it all, it's heartbreaking.

Sorry Brad, but the only time I've ever watched this program was when it was broadcasted in 1977 and thankfully I was so young, that I barely remember it. I do, however, recall seeing clips of it on 20/20 at that same time.

I do watch the 2 sit-down shows of the Comeback Special weekly. I just never get tired of seeing Elvis in all that black leather ......

It's something he was brave to go onstage looking the way he did, and poke fun of himself. I can say I love the EIC album, wish they'd found a nice shot from 77 in the Sundial suit !

    That's understandable Liz.
Elvis was quiet impressive in those 68 sit down shows wasn't he.
