    Linda Thompson and Sheila Ryan

    Hi everyone

I am sorry to bother everyone with a question again especially so soon but I have another question I would like to know if anyone has any info on it I asked this question on the Fecc forum but nobody knew so I thought I would ask all of you and maybe get your thoughts and opinions on it as well.

I have a couple questions about Linda Thompson and Sheila Ryan. I will start first with Linda during Elvis week 2006 Linda mentioned she was thinking about writing a book about her relationship with Elvis that would also be about her own life. A little while after I read reports that Linda and her brother Sam were writing a book together but haven't heard anything more about since that time and also have not heard much from Linda since Elvis week 06 which I think is a shame because I feel she always speaks about Elvis with love, respect and warmth and it would be nice if she did write a book because we could get another perspective about Elvis from a women who dated him long term other than Priscilla.
I would also be interested in hearing more about Linda's acting career from her point of view I know she did Hee haw and made some guest appearances on some shows but they weren't really big parts I thought given that she was a model, Elvis girlfriend and was Miss Tennesse would lead to bigger parts I wonder why it didn't?
I know that her marriage to Bruce Jenner was shortlived and a heard a little bitter with Linda raising their two sons basically by herself and would like to know more about their relationship
I would also like to know Linda's thoughts on various people in Elvis life Priscilla, the Colonel, memphis mafia members etc.
I know Linda did an interview with Larry King in 2002 but it wasn't really indepth and would like to hear more from her in the future
Has anyone heard anymore about Linda's book? is she still writing a book?

Question number 2 is about Sheila Ryan I know she did write and finished a book in late 2006 but haven't heard anymore about it since that time
I am thinking she is having trouble finding a publisher, I find that a little strange because women who had affairs and short term relationships with Elvis have gotten book deals and published books so why not Sheila?
I had been to her website a while ago and it hasn't been updated since 2006/early 2007 her book might be interesting as well since she married James Caan after she broke up with elvis and I heard they had a really bad relationship, I also heard from Sheila herself in a interview in 2006 that the book was to include juicy details about their sex life, other details also never know before.
Barbara Leigh got a book deal so why not her?
Has anyone got any new info about Sheila Ryan's book?

Thank you for your help everyone I appreciate it

I too would be interested in reading Linda's book, if it ever comes out. Sheila has nothing to say that I am interested in hearing. She stooped so low as to sell some pill bottles of Elvis' on ebay - what a shame! I also know she wasn't very nice to the Elvis fans back when she was dating Elvis - I bet she'll have a big old smile and welcome for them now as she sees them $$$$.

I really don't think Linda will say anything about priscilla but she might talk little bit about the boys. shelia ryan not really interested in what she has to say.

Don`t really like the fact that linda selling elvis tooth(something i wouldn`t of done)

DeFontes said the tooth and hair come with letters of authentication. The tooth, pulled after it broke, allegedly once belonged to one of Elvis' former girlfriends, Linda Thompson.

    Elvis Tooth Up For Auction

    07/09/2003 4:00 PM, Yahoo! Music
    LAUNCH Radio Networks

(7/9/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- An Elvis Presley tooth is being auctioned off on eBay.com, along with a lock of hair from his army haircut and a commemorative 24-karat-gold record of "Love Me Tender." The items belong to a private collector and have been on display since 1992 in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, at the Yellow Strawberry hair salon. The opening bid for the memorabilia on Tuesday (July 8) was $100,000, and by the end of the day was approaching a half million dollars. The auction ends next Tuesday (July 15).

The tooth--a molar--was once owned by Elvis' former fiancee, Linda Thompson. She donated it to the Elvis Presley Museum, which later sold it.

A European company wanted to extract DNA from the tooth to reportedly clone Elvis, but the seller was not interested.

The lock of hair was cut when Elvis joined the U.S. Army and he gave it to talk show host Joe Franklin as a present.

A spokesperson for Elvis Presley Enterprises, which manages Presley's estate, says it cannot authenticate the tooth and lock of hair but says it's possible that both items could be genuine.

Meanwhile, record collectors have pointed out a discrepancy in the auction of the gold disc. The record's picture sleeve shown on the web auction page is not the original because it lists "Loving You" as a flip side of the single. The original flip side of 1956's "Love Me Tender" was "Anyway You Want Me (That's How I Will Be)."

This is not the first time Elvis Presley's hair has been sold on the internet. A large clump of his hair, the size of a small ball, sold at auction last November for more than $115,000.

The seller also plans to auction off locks of hair from John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, Baron "The Red Baron" von Richtoffen and King George III.

She didn't give it away, she donated it to a museum. Big difference.

I know some fans don't like Sheila Ryan I was just curious as to why she was having trouble getting her book published as many women who have dated Elvis have written books about him and gotten theirs published, she also had a rocky marriage to actor James Caan and those type of books get published all the time.

I am thinking Linda is no longer writing a book but don't know for sure
If she did write a book it would probably be more popular with the fans than Sheila's, possibly be a very good book as well. Linda's best friend wrote a book so why not Linda. I heard from Sheila in the Elvis last 24 hour documentary that she knew Elvis was seeing Linda I wonder if Linda knew Elvis was dating Sheila to?

I think alot of fans would have more respect if she did the same to elvis, but she didn't so she will always be unpopular to elvis fans.

Agreed Getlo there is a difference there...wasn't linda's fault they the museum sold it.

I disgree. Linda could of kept it if it meant something to her to keep in it the first. I doubt any fan here would donate elvis tooth if they had the chance you like the idea thats fine but l think its gross

She may have thought that donating the tooth to an Elvis museum was a better thing to do then holding onto it. Seeing as she is now happily married she may not have wanted a reminder of one of her past boyfriends.

She has kept everything that elvis gave her and thats where l give her the thumps up, but the tooth is something that nobody should be keeping IMO.

I am confused as to why she kept it in the first place. Why didn't the dentist just dispose of it like most do?

I don't know what she was doing with it to begin with, but I think it was a good gesture on her part for donating it to a museum rather than selling it herself as many would have done.
I never kept my children's teeth.

My mom has 3 kids...she kept our first shoes. I have 2 kids, and I have their first pair of shoes. The "tooth fairy" got all of my kid's teeth...and I'm not real sure what He did with them.

Maybe it coming from Elvis Presley´s mouth someone thought it was a magic tooth and it played Love Me Tender when you turned it upside down.
Anyway the one who owns it knows the tooth fairy is going to put a nice present under their pillow when it gets auctioned... this is a strange world.

Yeh....I bet that tooth fairy will leave more for that tooth than he left under my pillow OR my kid's pillow's.
