It was also one of the first LP I bought back in the 70's. What really caught my ears was when he starts "I can't stop loving you" it looks like he filled all the building with his voice, really great.
The first MSG CD I bought was a few years ago and it was Elvis As Recorded At The Garden. It took me up until just really recently before I heard An Afternoon At The Garden...and wow..what a outstanding performance the setlist is so delicious...probably the best ever version of Never Been To Spain.
I'm really into these MSG shows sure wish they all would end up being recorded on soundboard that would be something amazing..esecially the opening show from June 9th 1972!!!![]()

It would have been great. Do you know how it was with other artists? Do others have many of their concerts filmed at that time?
I know the COlonel thought that the general public should only get a taste of Elvis in TV and movies, or Else they might stop going to see his concerts. He wanted most of Elvis' money to be made through concerts, not TV appearances. The TV was just used to get fans interested.
