Thread: Elvis & Nick Adams

gotta say, i don't care if he was, but somehow, i don't see it. like someone earlier stated, if he had gone there, it'd been revealed by someone in the MMcamp. they were only to eager to dish out the gossip. and the ladies that are talking aren't the ladies i hold in a credible light - now, if Ann Margret or Dixie or June came out stating anything, i may reconsider.
btw, gotta admire AnnMargret, what a classy lady!

Couldn't agree more..Saw an interview with her one time talking about Elvis and she would not say nothing negative about him ,especially when the interveiwer brought up the end of Elvis' life and asked her thoughts on the issue..i give that woman a thumbs up. She would have been so much better for elvis rather than cilla.

I highly doubt it but I'll go along with the 13 who voted to this point and say
"It wouldn't matter" to me either way.

No, I've not seen the movie Giant. Just looked it up to see who the artists were. Have you seen Send Me No Flowers?

Yes...I have seen that, along with "Pillow Talk". Those are both great comedies. "Giant" is a classic. It's a must for all of us Texans...you should see it, then see what you think about him.

Or Rock's own favorite movie Ice Station Zebra.

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

I've seen Giant several times...it is a classic film. I have it on VHS. I always thought Rock Hudson was very male and it surprised me no end when I found out he was gay. There's always been speculation as to whether James Dean was too but I don't think it was ever proven.

The film I enjoyed the most with Rock was "Come September" with Gina Lollabrigida, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee. Love the song "Multiplication".

I'm not sure if Rock was gay or bi?. He was married for a couple years and that woman wrote in her autobiography that they married because they were in love and she saw no overtly gay tendencies in Rock. But then when she died someone claimed she was a lesbian and she married Rock for money?
I loved all the Doris and Rock movies and "Come September" is also a great fun movie. The scenes where Darin and his young friends try to tire out Rock is just so funny. I think someone may have thought of Darin and Dee as the next generation of Rock and Doris-but they did not really have the chemistry.

I agree, as cute a couple as Bobby and Sandra were as a couple they did not have the chemistry of Rock and Doris. It's been along time since I saw one of their movies together...now I'm in the mood. Pillow Talk was my favorite.

I'm not sure whether Rock was gay or bi either but he sure had a sad ending too.

I have read several books on him since his death and I would say he was 100% gay. He married her because the studio was pushing him to so that it would squelch some of the rumors that were beginning to circulate. He had "pool" parties quite often that were 100% gay guys and he would spend the evening "choosing" who he wanted, almost always young and blonde. When he died, his significant other, Marc Christian, sued the estate because Rock Hudson had NEVER told him that he had AIDS. The judge awarded him 14 million dollars. Remember all the worry about the kissing scenes he had done with Linda Evans on "Dynasty"? Hard to believe, but at that time we still were not completely sure how you could get it.

"Pillow Talk" was my favorite too Diane. My son is 6'4" tall also and in HS he had a friend with a little 2-seater sports car. I would always tell Andrew to just hang one leg out the window, just like RH had done in "Pillow Talk".
I remember watching them take him off of the plane on a stretcher in early October 1985. I can always remember the time because I had just had a C-section with Andrew and I was at home, but still stuck in the house, unable to drive. He was the first major star that we saw with AIDS. And, yes, he did come to a very sad ending.

I've not seen any films of Rock, other than Doris Day films. I should view him in the Giant as well as other actresses. Do you remember Doris's cable show about the care of pets? Rock was on there and he/she/they (I can't recall who said it) spoke of he having aids. Yes, I also remember him being shown on a stretcher. Very sad. I also agree on the 100% gay. For whatever reason he always seemed he was to me. My favourite actor w/Doris was James Garner (I think I spelled his name correctly).

I would have to say the actor who totally surprised me in the gay/bi etc..would be (his name escapes me now) the Dad in the Brady Bunch series.

Robert Reed, and that was speculated about for years.

Same with Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle USMC).

I just bought a mag rag at Walmart cause there was a little article in there about Doris Day. Haven't heard a word on her in years and years. I'm interested in knowing what she's been doing and how old she is now - she's gotta be pretty old!! There was also a pic of Dick Van Dyke - he's 82 now and still smiling.

I saw a while ago, a pic of her..and old lady who still looks sweet and lovely as in the old days..I guess she loves animals and kinda in some charity works for them, which is nice..I still listen to her songs with pleasure and not interested in her affairs, or anyone's,those kinda news don't give no clues about one's real personality behind the looks and stories..

She has always worked very hard with the different animal organizations, and for that reason alone I will always like her. Anyone that loves animals gets my vote!!
