As you may have heard my father is dying from brain and lung cancer. Now I have been told from members on here that because I have'nt got a girlfriend me and my father should "Go and get a *****"
I do'nt know what this thing is to make trouble with any guy that has not a girlfriend and saying this....
And you call yourselves Elvis fans, you should be ashamed. I am so ashamed to think these people are Elvis fans, I am now no longer a fan, if this is the sort of filth that it is part of.

Dave....I have no idea who would have said something that classless, but please realize whoever it was is in a small minority here. We all posted many good wishes and prayers on your thread about your Dad....and I for one continue to keep you and he both in my prayers. It has nothing to do with Elvis fans...there's always a bad apple in every cart.It also has NO bearing on the man himself...

I don't know why some people told you that...I don't understand what's wrong with a person who is single. I'm single too and I don't think to have something less than a married person or someone who has boyfriend/girlfriend.

Dear Dave, I'm terribly sorry learning about all these..I'm sure the ugliness of those certain people,has nothing to do with Elvis or your other friends..hope you won't give up being an Elvis fan..please go for justice and don't blame the victim..Those so called fans even hurt Elvis's memory as well and kinda enjoy this..really sick..they are just,miserable ,hopeless people who cannot learn anything from Elvis who was one of the very gentle hearts that walked on earth and was a most loving and kind spirit..please try to ignore them cause obviously, they are at the very beginning of their journey of being a human..the most important thing is your father and his being at peace and comfort till his time comes ,yet I still hope of a total cure for his cancer..hugs

Dave, I realize that when a person, has a loved one, that is suffering, you will tend to take from what some people say personally, please just ignore this person that said this to you, maybe this person needs a psych evaluation, or ???, it is a shame, that a person can be so small minded, you have a lot of support here as you can see, working as a hospice RN, i see and hear a lot of these small minded people that don't have a life themselves, we are all here for your father, you and your family, so please keep being strong, and you must take care of yourself too, keep the faith in being an Elvis fan, because Elvis did bring us all together, my thoughts are with you Dave.

I'm sorry that you had to go through this awful experience. There will be always that kind of people and the best thing to do is try and ignore them. I'm sure that the person who gave that sick comment in your previous thread is not a true Elvis fan. Please don't stop being a fan because of this insensitive statement of an obviously sick person.

hi dave firstly that is terrible news that your poor dad is dying and the person who was nasty to you , we dont need people like that anywhere.
obviously they have a big problem with themselves, but you should not let them affect your being a elvis fan as already has been aptly said.
ive found most Elvis fans to be kind caring and sharing too .
I myself am a 44 yr old female who isnt married neither do i have a boyfriend, or should i say man friend .
im nervous person who has been overweight all my life, so ive been taken the mickey out of all my life, which in turn almost killed all my confidence, so i could never even contemplate getting a boyfriend.
ive learned to live with my limitations now, but i do have many friends through my love And Respect for Elvis Presley.
and a loving family too, so im not exactly bereft .
i pray you have the confidence to ignore nasty people, i too have encountered 1 or two of them, who hated me as i am a elvis fan, but ive learned to try and rise above them, and its them with the problem not us is it not .
