For a fan, getting one of those scarves from Elvis was truly something special.I've got a good friend who got 14 of them from Elvis over the years.I talked her into giving me one of them.I got a red one she recieved 12-12-75 in Vegas.Did you see that show by any chance? There was a pretty good story that goes along with that scarf. If you were there you would probably remember the details of that scarf being handed out.
No, I wasn't there 12/12/75 but was in 76. I'd like to hear the story too!! Come on, out with it!!

I think the story behind my scarf is kinda one of those you had to be there type stories.I will however bore you all with it.I may have told it a long time ago on here. This friend of ours saw Elvis perform around 40 times over the years in Vegas and touring.Managing to get a total of 14 scarves from him.Her favorite shows were the Vegas ones because you could get fairly close to him.She also knew to tip Emilio rather well for good seats. The key however to getting real close to Elvis in Vegas was to have an unusual gift that would catch his eye. This would pretty much guarantee you some contact with him.The night of 12-12-75 she went to the show caring a toliet seat decorated like a picture frame. The joke being you held it in front of youre face and frame your face with the toilet seat.I told you that you had to be there!Anyway Elvis was blown away by it when he saw it.He paused the show briefly and had her come up and hand it to him.He went on and on laughing about it while walking around with it over his face.He gave her a kiss and a red scarf, the scarf she gave me.This friend of mine knew many of the guys in Elvis' band including Jackie Kahane the opening act comedian. She saw Elvis perform on the road not to long after that night in Vegas.Kahane approached her that night and told her Elvis was still going on about that toilet seat he got from her. After that incidsent Elvis would always acknowledge her.Anyways that's the little story behind the scarf I got.She also gave me the menu from that season. That was a nice addition because that 75 menu is one of the more expensive ones.
WOW - that's a great story!!! Lucky thing got to get up on stage with him!!! I'm sure he laughed about that everytime he thought about it!
