    MS stands for matinee show.

All of these tapes say MS or DS - so I assume her coding was Midnight Show or Dinner Show. Elvis didn't do matinee shows in Vegas or Tahoe.

You're right Gail, at Elvis-In-Concert they only listed the 8:30 and midnight shows in Tahoe. Sure wish I could come across the one we saw soon. I'd be interested to see if you have it and what you thought of it.

He wasn't as animated at the Tahoe show as he was the year before in Oakland but his divorce was pending so that could have been why. Still a great show and he looked wonderful.

Maybe he was scared of how much it would cost him, even after his death.

I think it was that May 73 tahoe stand where Elvis was getting sick and he even canceled a few shows he was in bad health at that time.

    from Elvis day Day.

Variety reports that elvis is some 30 pounds overweight, puffy, white-faced, and blinking against the light. His voice is weak and his delivery is flabby, according to the same review.

and on May 18th 1973 elvis is taken to a local hospital for chest xrays ,and as fans wait in line, they tell them both tonight and this weekends shows will have to be canceled. Elvis and linda fly home to memphis, and the Colonel returns his $100,000 payment to the hotel.

So at that time he was having a hard time it was obvious.

Brad, seems like all the concerts from mid to late May '73 Tahoe were canceled but when we saw him and May 6th is gnawing at me, he didn't appear sick at all and his eyes weren't bothering him so maybe it was later on in the month that he started to feel bad. Like I said though, he did seem more subdued than when we saw him in Oakland '72.

Looks can be decieveing. He infact was ill, and thats why he canceled a few shows.

If you remeber it was only a month later on June 28th 1973 in St Louis where he almost od'ed.

1973 was infact a tough year for our boy. The divorce lingering, he was in need of money so he sold his entire catlogue to RCA, and mounting health problems.

Parker caught him during a 'weak point' (after he fell in the bathroom and suffered a cuncussion) and Elvis (at least to me) didn't seem 'at himself' enough to stand up to Parker.

The shows are from different years and different dates. They started at 8:30 p.m. on their respective dates.
