One of Elvis better later 60's movies by far.Wouldn't mind having a doctor like that.

    Re: Change Of Habit (1969)

"You're the doctor? You don't look like a doctor." there's always a line in every Elvis movie that just makes me smile, that I always remember. This is it for this movie.
The worst Elvis movie? That was harsh! In my opinion, this is one of the better movies, it did have some harsh scenes, but for the time, it was presented very well. The rape scene, well who likes watching that? Dr. John to the rescue, he outed the rapist and stayed behind to comfort poor Mary.
The carousel song - well, that was as usual out of place, although compared to other movie songs, went well withthe scene. He's singing to a little girl, trying to make her smile. [I've done it - in public, too. And people looked at me funny.]
This being his last movie, Elvis seemed so relaxed, & the movie did not have Elvis in every single scene. He was not the STAR of this movie, even tho his name came first. There were 4 separate stories, plus a series of sub-storylines that dealt with the Clinic people - Amanda, Julio & Desiree.

According to the article, the director was talking to Elvis, giving him some ideas on how to get a better performance from him, only to get shot down by the col. - perhaps he was truly afraid that like Binder, Graham could take his attention away- steal a bit of ole col.'s power Well, it certainly didn't make me want to visit the slums, that's for sure. "don't go winning Elvis no Oscars - we don't own no tuxedos!" Well, it wasn't Midnight Cowboy - and that did win the Oscar that year.

I love this Movie, and Flaming Star they are my top 2 then on down the line...I really hated to see Elvis in silly girlie movies, he was so much more.
