Thread: Elvis:What is the "IT" factor

  1. #21
Gail,I mentioned Frank as another example of a Charasmatic person, as a musician here in the UK I was part of a band of fellow muso's who experienced him walking into a studio. Trust me he had a great feeling of Charisma and presence about him, and like Elvis he did a lot for underprivelidged children around the World and was a great friend of Elvis lending him his private Plane to fly both Priscilla & Himself to Vegas for their wedding.Diane and your good self are entitled to your opinions and I did not start this thread to cause any upset I just used Frank as the next biggest Star to Elvis in a Charasmatic sense, as basically we are both on the same side and love our man, all I asked was how he had affected the young children of today, and the secret of his amazing longevity and affect on all he reached with his amazing Talent

This is the most difficult question to answer. I don`t know what the "IT" factor was. It is so intense that it is beyond description. We all know the obvious the voice, the moves , that face! There is just something about him that gets into your soul and becomes a part of who you are. He was so powerful and strong yet so weak and innocent. He was so sexual and yet so shy. He seemed to be at the top of his game yet, he was in the dept of despair. It is the whole package of who he was that gives him the "IT" quality. There never was and never will be another. I love him like a family member. No way to put it into words.

So well put Midnight,a family member, irreplacable, power and vulnerability,I put the thread out to see how everyone would react, the majority have come to the conclusion.... He was totally UNIQUE, a one off, never will the like be seen again, what a privilidge for us all to have lived in the same era as Elvis Aron Presley....

Gail, Carole and I are 3 that saw him many times in Vegas and we have all 3 had this discussion. Sitting stage-side...a few feet from him, yet it was if he was 20 ft. tall with a "light presence" around him. I'm sure that may sound strange..but it's true. It's as if he was not of this world.:
I could not agree more-perfectly put.

It was like someone said earlier, he just glowed. His soul reached out to yours and you knew that whatever you were going through was going to be okay because he was there for you. You just knew that whatever was going on, he understood and would be your shoulder to lean on. I can always count on him to help me through. He's the father and brother I never had and the lover I always prayed for. He's kind, gentle, understanding, generous, intelligent, courteous..I could keep going. Once I heard a friend talking about a religious experience she had and I thought, I feel the same way about Elvis. He is everything to me.

I've been a fan since 1969, to me it's always been the music. Then add in all the other cool things about Elvis and it's a can't miss. The Music.....which is why I hate the "modern" remixes

OMG! Maybe that's what happened to me! I was like 5/6 years of age when I started liking him.

That voice. It never get's old from the Sun Sessions all the way to Indianapolis June 26th 1977. Charisma, his style, his rise to fame, and how he basically threw it all in the trash for drugs. It all amazes me but first and foremost is the music.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977

    Kind Regards,
    Brad
