Jess! Hiya! I never get tired of these! Too funny!
    Great avatar, btw!

I'll be going camping all next week - adult supervisor for my son's troop- keep them homefires burning!

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

Hopefully, I'll have the boys singing Elvis music! I think I'll start with "Datin' "

My favorite versions of the song came from the August September 1972 Las Vegas engagement. Don't care for it after then.

This is Elvis' original recording - in studio - from the early 60's. I believe he performed this in 1961 on stage. I bet he drove the masses to the edge!!!!!!!! I would love to see this at 26 years old do his routine to this song!!!!!!!!!!!

You just got to enjoy the original master from '61.

I tend to enjoy the performance from the Aloha concert as well!!

That's an interesting observation Bradley....why do you feel that way? I was listening to some of my shows from 72 and 73 and I don't really hear that much difference. To me..it all had to do with what ever kind of mood he was in that night.

I don't know I just don't care for the later versions, like in 1976 etc.

Just like Elvis' delivery in the song from the first couple of years he started doing it. Without the I Light up when you call my name ELVISSSS, I just don't care for that part that we hear so often in the 1974 and other versions! I do however really like the version on the FTD CD Spring Tours 1977

I'm with Brad on this one....I'm not fond of the versions after '73 (I love the version he does for the main "Aloha" concert) cuz there's just too much fooling around....

OK....I understand what both of you guys are saying. Yes...there was often way too much fooling around and it was hard to enjoy the song for itself.
